However, it is a 47 and a 37 that are operating it so far, or that is what came up from Crewe yesterday!! Was going to photo it today, but due to Shed24H cafe at Hellifield being closed on a Monday, something to do between trains (the firemans breakfast), missed the trip out!!!!!πππ

Rail Charter Services has confirmed that it intends to repeat the regular excursion trains it operated last summer over the Settle & Carlisle route through North Yorkshire and Cumbria. As in 2020, services are likely to start in w/c July 19 and run until around September 12. Trains will run six days a week between Saturday and Thursday, following poor loadings on Fridays in 2020, and requests for a Sunday service. RCS are seeking to use a former Great Western Railway IC125 in 2+5 formation, using former GWR first class vehicles, modified at Arlington Fleet Services in Eastleigh. β’ Β A new branding and livery has also been revealed for the HST, which will be one from the Locomotive Services Limited fleet. The HST will be formed of five coaches that will be fitted with leather reclining First Class seating and power points. There is expected to be an enhanced buffet counter and premium βat seatβ dining car, while COVID-secure Perspex screens will be fitted between every bay of seats. A revised service pattern is being developed. Last yearβs three return trips between Skipton and Appleby will be replaced by a morning southbound run from Appleby (09:xx) to Skipton, one return trip from Skipton (11:xx) to Carlisle (return 15:xx), and a late afternoon return to Appleby from Skipton (17:xx). β’ for further information, read RAIL 927, published on March 24, and available digitally from March 20.

As a result, RCS has decided to withdraw the Sunday service. The operator also reports disappointing numbers on the 09.40 from Appleby to Skipton and 17.17 return. It said the inability to start and finish these journeys at Carlisle due to a lack of platform capacity, had significantly dampened demand.
