Hello to all..
I`m just putting this out there to see if anyone has seen/observed anything within the coach/bus operational circuit that`s a tad out of the ordinary?.
Also has anyone seen T663 VWU anywhere, its an old Volvo engine`d Alexander Royale bodied Olympian painted in the really old Huddersfield Bus Company livery of cream and red to commemorate 125 year`s of buses in Huddersfield...
So now its over to all you bus/coach friendly folk...
Best wishes, Bryan.

Hi there Stephen01,
Thanks ever so much for posting your message on here, it truly is awesome and real appreciated.
I`ve actually been in touch with Craig Temple CEO of Connexions Buses this month ( April 2020 ) and he told me that it had passed to a preservation group last September 2019.
So has anyone actually spotted this Volvo engined Alexander Royale bodied bus in the last few months, and if anyone from the preservation group who has this bus is reading this please would you let me know how its keeping.
Thanks in advance,
Bryan.

Saw one of the Belle Isle old 15 reg Sapphires running down Bradford rd Wrenthorpe as the 481 to Wakefield at 1410 today i think some of the coding for 118a must be wrong as i've seen 481 Leeds/Wakefield displayed a few times even on 723 which has got 118 data on the blind

Presumably the codes on the running boards must be wrong then ? Penfold

Must be the first time that I saw a Y plated FWY Wright Scania L94 on route 9A, even stranger still its strange seeing one today as I thought all the low emission buses were out during these times.

723 out today. I must expect, I wasn't expecting it out at all with these reduced services due to C19. I thought they might have tried to officially withdrawn it and 1621 as well. But nope. I am surprised to see 723 out today! On 148/149s.

Both were buried deep in the 'off the road due to reduced PVR' stack this morning, with stickers not to be used still attached ? ....and neither have been officially fully withdrawn neither. Penfold

Penfold Bustimes, what else would I use? Since I can't go out and actually spot them. Has another bus got 723s ticket machine? As 1621 was being shown as 262 on bustimes a few weeks ago and I thought it might have been the case today, as you wouldn't think Arriva would use a Dart on the 425A would you. It's showing as 723 being out on the 117 at the moment.

It's showing as 723 being out on the 117 at the moment. I certainly wouldnt be using Bus Times as a guide to buses being out. Those buses that got parked up (due to a reduced PVR) have had their machines removed for safe storage so any that go down will have probably been replaced and not programmed with the correct vehicle. Looking at Bus Times its showing 3 vehicles on 117 and I know for a fact that at least 2 of those are Hybrids. News also this morning is that the grants that the government are giving to keep running key worker services are now stipulating that Euro 6 vehicle have to be used where ever possible for the grants to be made, hence having a rotation of vehicles and 19** (ex 110 vehicles) are being parked up an the majority of Hybrids are being put back on the road. Hence another reason 723 and 1621 (and others in the same group ie not Euro 6) I wouldnt have thought would be out on the road. Penfold

Penfold Bustimes seem rather accurate when it comes to Castleford buses, usually. Is that why the tempos aren't being used then due to them not being Euro 6. Sorry if I caused any confusion, I saw 723 on bus times and thought it's rather strange for them to use this since, this hasn't been in service since the reduced timetables was put in place.

As an update, neither 723 or 1621 were on the road yesterday. As stated yesterday they as still in the same places they were at the begining of the week. I have photo evidence of this. Ticket machines that have been in storage since the start of a reduced PVR have been place onto any buses going back into service and the majority have NOT been assigned to the vehicle on which it has been placed on. Hence why vehicles are showing on the road when they are not. 1721 is currently carrying the machine that was assigned to 1020. Drivers DO NOT set the bus number on the machine, that is upto the managers (be it OM/DM or EM) to assign the machine to the bus. Penfold

No one has ever told us how the system operates oat the depot/on the vehicle. Can you tell me please - does the driver have to do anything on the machine to indicate the end/start of a journey?
