If they can work out a proper express non stop bus from York then surprisingly it could be popular with those from the North East. I've heard many a person from the likes of Whitby and Scarborough, including one person from Goathland, saying they are off on holiday from LBA, but taking the train to Leeds and travelling by taxi from there. I suppose it's because accessing Newcastle Airport isn't too straight forward, especially from Scarborough/Bridlington with a lengthy journey and a change in York required.
Travelling to Leeds is a marathon effort in itself, then you've got to mess about getting from platform 15 to the exit for taxi's. Changing in York may seem more appealing, slightly less time on the train (20 to 30 mins including wait time in York) and you don't have to walk quite as far with a good chance they'll come into platforms 3/4 and depart back from 5. By the time you've travelled the extra bit from York to Leeds, got through the station to the taxi rank and got a taxi, you'd be well on the way to the airport should the bus take a direct route from York and probably save a few quid. Don't forget as well that there could be a queue at the taxi rank.

This is why the WYCA and the owners of the Airport need to get their fingers out and get the rail connection fast tracked.
I'm disappointed the proposed station is far from the current airport terminal but if the airport can get the new terminal through the planning office then it would only be about 1/2 a mile away.

I think Transdev are wanting to hide their new A1, A2 & A3 routes, as the place where the timetables will be located is well hidden, in a place which no average passenger will think to look in, as they are under the York & Country section on the Transdev website: www.transdevbus.co.uk/york/services

When that's up and running.

There's no actual timetable or route map there though, even after changing the date to after the service is due to start.

Maybe just so it's easily accessed for when they want to put it live.

A tweet today confirms that the Leeds & Bradford area tickets are being merged and will also be valid on flyer buses up to the airport, including as far as Pool on the A2. Pleased to see this will also be all at the same price as the current tickets

May have missed this but is the K Day (K card extra) valid as far as Pool ? I don't think validity of the KDay/Card has been mentioned at all for the Flyer services. I suspect they may not be valid at all.

Is the KDAY ticket only valid on "Keighley Bus Company" operated routes, If so it will remain valid only on the 62 Keighley - Airport service? Some of the new range of Flyer Tickets will be valid on buses in Harrogate, But not these new Leeds/Bradford area tickets. see: www.transdevbus.co.uk/flyer/weve-got-just-ticket-you

May have missed this but is the K Day (K card extra) valid as far as Pool ? Ok thanks was just thinking it was maybe similar to the Colne extension on the M4 (actually a former WYRCC route) and the Barlick extension from Skippy on the Wizz?

It is valid on Keighley bus company services and also Keighley to Colne and Skipton to Barnoldswick on Burnley buses. The last bit was only added when Keighley briefly ran a very early morning service from Keighley to the Silentnight factory.

Some of the new range of Flyer Tickets will be valid on buses in Harrogate, There is an existing Airport connect ticket that allowed travel on Flying Tiger services. I presume it is still available despite that web page quoted below being plainly out of date so its just a rebranding of that. www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk/the-latest/public-transport-connections"You can now buy a combined ticket on any Harrogate Bus Company or Little Explorers bus from within the Harrogate Plus Zone and travel to Leeds Bradford Airport with your ticket using Yorkshire Tiger’s 747 service. The Harrogate Plus Zone covers the whole of Harrogate and Knaresborough, and extends all the way to Ripley and Harewood Bridge on the 36 and Wetherby on the 70 & 71 services."

The Flyer website makes it clear where these tickets cover. It does seem to be very similar to your description, but with more up-to-date route numbers. www.transdevbus.co.uk/flyer/weve-got-just-ticket-youHarrogate boundary map_small.pdf (95.18 KB)

the PVR totals 10 with 11 during weekday afternoons Latest WYIS fleetlist only has 10 Versas listed for "Flyer" 238,239,241-243,274-278 and Alex Hornby confirmed on twitter 240 was staying at Keighley so it seems they need to one or two more.

I did think it odd that they made 240 the Captain Tom bus if it was to leave for flyer soon after. Makes sense to keep it, but also, maybe would have been more sensible to brand a Solo or even a B7RLE as having 240 stay makes it non standard.

I’m not sure what the timings were between the Captain Tom news story and the contract for the airport being awarded and the confirmation that the Versas would be used on it. I’d assumed either they would transfer the Captain Tom branding to another bus, or phase it out. I’m guessing they will probably nick some spares from the Mainline and 6/7 or possibly the PotN Versa from York, with older buses having to stand in as spares on those routes

I am wondering whether the Daytripper tickets will be valid on Flyer services? It would be nice to use one from Leeds to Preston via Leeds Bradford Airport, Keighley & Burnley.
