Every operator will be using the most fuel efficient and reliable buses they have. They're running round carrying fresh air & dont want any extra costs with fuel or breakdowns.

Don't suppose the May service changes will go ahead will they? they will still have to go ahead so we can get an idea to see what changes we've got in store when normal services resume

Don't suppose the May service changes will go ahead will they? If any services are changing operator, and those services are running, then the change may go ahead If it’s just commercial time changes, then obviously not.

It was meant to be a substantial change date was Sun 16th May , South Calderdale changes in particular, with some significant changing of operators.

Unfortunately the process as being put back to at least the Sept change date, and due to the fact the information was never put in the public domain , i cant comment further apart from to say TJ Walsh had won 3 contracts during the process , which will now have to be reallocated.

The tenders will need retendering as will the 504 as they provided the only service on most of the routes The commercial services were all duplicated by First Sainsbury’s will also in due course need to find someone to run their free bus, and Lloyds Banking Group someone to run their works buses

I’ve heard a rumour about the 504 but don’t know how true as I’m merely an enthusiast and not involved at all. Things like that though will surely need sorting out pretty soon though as surely things like the 504 will need sorting before September...

Does anybody know which routes in Calderdale were coming up for tender this next month? I was just trying to work out which routes TJ Walsh had been successful in gaining had they still been in operation.

The entire South Calderdale network , circa 2010/2015 was re-tendered before Covid 19, results never reached public domain, now suspended till Sept change date at earliest , purely my opinion but suspect TJW had secured Daytime work such as 532, 546 and 24 or maybe the Fountain Head bus . Was other changes to, i would love to tell you, but dont want to get myself in bother .

The following Calderdale services appear to be the ones that are up for tender: 24, 343, 504, 532, 534, 535, 536, 537, 546, 547, 560, 571, 574, 577, 579, I may have missed a couple off...
In addition the 231/232 are also supposedly up for tender.

The Calderdale contracts mentioned above look to be the ones gained by Yorkshire Tiger in 2010 and again renewed in 2015. It would have made sense that TJ Walsh would have possibly gained the 24 / 532 / 546 - all Mon - Sat daytime work. We will watch with interest, but I can see new operators to the district working here later in the year - CT Plus?

This was an internal transfer of work ,Arriva operated the Sunday network after First had operated its early contracted journeys, but fairly recently 12/18 months ago a decision was made to transfer the work to Yorkshire Tiger probably as Tiger operated the rest of the service through the week , apart from Firsts contracted journeys ,and probably to cut costs .

CT Plus have secured TLCs Huddersfield work (apart from 901/902) which will operate from Holbeck initially , although a site in Brighouse as being sourced, but due to present circumstances cannot yet be taken up . Regarding the Calderdale tenders if the provisional results stand you may find the new operator is not new at all,and may in fact be a blast from the past !

TLC keeping the 901 then? blast from the past - back to first as I’m sure they had these routes before tiger? Or at least some of them

I must emphasise, that not all routes under the Tender process are changing,if things stay as before the Covid 19 outbreak , a significant amount are staying the same. But things i would say could change dramatically in either direction afterwards .

757 will stop operating from Sunday until further notice 747/737 will continue to operate. * 737 will start and terminate at Yeadon Morrisons. * 747 will continue on normal route but will omit the airport Bear in mind that the 757 is more a dedicated airport service (though it does carry local passengers) ; whereas the 737 and 747 are part of the local transport network.

Arriva are revising some of the timetables again Monday with either addtional trips added on routes or routes added for short runs. On the Heckmondwike list it shows they run one trip on 203 from Dewsbury to Leeds departing at 07:19

Other changes are the 111 starting earlier, the 188 having one trip run from Castleford to Altofts and the 187 doing 3 trips not so long after then 1 evening trip back at 17:50. The 268 has had its Monday-friday early morning trips added too
