New Halifax Bus Station Plans Announced

Plans for a new Bus station have been revealed

Due to be completed in 2023 it would be built on the existing site

I am disappointed they are thinking of redeveloping the present site.
I rather favour demolishing the bridge from the bottom of Horton St to the station, developing a station entrance at ground level and introducing some bus stands outside the entrance, thus allowing a more integrated site.
There may not be room for all services using the present bus station, but then some services presently serving Halifax are not accommodated there anyway.

Plans for a new £15.8 million Halifax Bus Station delivered in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority have been approved by members of Calderdale Council’s Planning Committee.
