Can anyone help with an old bus route enquires from the 1980’s... The bus in question would travel down Stonegate Road, Leeds and work it’s way up to Shaw Lane, past the Arndale Centre in Headingley. As a family we are divided between the number 45 or the 38. Any help would be appreciated. Happy New Years 😊

It was 45 in LCT days and 38 in Yorkshire Rider days, not sure when it changed.

The 38 which ran from Wortley (Ringways) to Colton was converted to minibus operation in 1987 or 1988 when I was on the rota that worked that route.

Definitely 38 until very recently, only withdrawn in the last few months. My recollection is that it changed number at D-day - I have a clear memory of going down to the Ringways terminus to photograph the last buses with the old number, but can't for the life of me remember for sure what it was. 44/5 rings no bells at all - possibly 51?

I used to ride it quite frequently over to various bits of Armley and Wortley throughout the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Certainly remember the Micro Riders on it.

Definitely 45 in LCT days, the 44 was Stanningley to Halton Moor, though not via Stonegate Road as it followed what is now the 91 route. 51 was one of the Morley routes along Stonegate Road but it never went to Headingley.

the 45 was deffo pre 1974. wortley, Kirkstall, Headingley, Shaw Ln, Meanwood, roundabout by Leafield Clinic, King Ln, Gledhow Valley Rd, Easterly Rd, Seacroft Towb Centre, Stanks. Think the bit from Hearehills eastwards were extensions after Seacroft Town Centre was opened. operated with centre door AEC Reliance. Pic of one at Meanwood - i.pinimg.com/originals//8c/5b/8d8c5b2b441f075dedb1c67a2fef8398.jpg - but not sure why he is pulling out of Green Rd. 38 was Moortown - Whitkirk. went Lidgett Ln, Oakwood Clock, Gledhow lane, past Seacroft hospital, then halton, Crossgates and down to Whitkirk. operated with double deckers but later a PAYE single decker.
