Barkerend Road in Bradford has gone from every 10 mins to every 30 mins quite quickly there. I don’t think the market for buses is very strong up there though.
Yet more cuts from 6 to 5 buses per hour. I’m sure there was a pledge a few years ago when the Leeds bus improvements were announced that all main corridors into Leeds would run every 10 mins. Now we’ve ended up where less corridors do, not more.

unless Bradford puts in more bus lanes, we will continue with cuts I don’t think most roads into Bradford (Leeds, Barkerend, Great Horton, Thornton etc) have room for bus lanes.

The 26 and 27 are interesting. Halton Dial becomes a terminus again, although it will be interesting to see where exactly the buses terminate/make up time - looks like it may be a circular route.

..,although of course it means First Leeds will now have two 27s, which is a bit silly.

First up to their previous trick with the 33/34 (when it was 33/33A). It didn't work last time - what makes them think it will work this time?

Reducing Saturday timetables a few weeks before Christmas when services will already be disrupted doesn’t sound like a great idea.

I would hazard a guess that services are altered following surveys. Such surveys are undertaken on bus, kerb side or info from tickets issued through a machine. If you are an operator running a bus on air(no passengers) you will obviously alter or withdraw the service. Not knowing the inner working of WYMetro I suspect that they will have been consulted and have had some form of involvement in any decision.

When a service is reduced in frequency there isn’t anything Metro can do. They’d only come into play if the service was being withdrawn entirely.
First are managing decline though and are in a poor financial state, they are cutting significantly all over the country, more so than anyone else.

The new timetable sees a 185 5 minutes behind the 184 from Huddersfield and 4 minutes in front of the 184 towards Huddersfield. Surely that won't do loadings of both services any favours and could be the death knell for the 184?

First are managing decline though and are in a poor financial state, they are cutting significantly all over the country, more so than anyone else. First don't appear to help themselves. Frequent cancellations, buses in a run down state and demotivated staff seem to be the norm., even the newer ones are already looking untidy. All things in their control which need urgent attention. Service cuts are just going to reduce passenger numbers further, especially if the cancellation levels continue at their current levels. Although, if First's twitter team are correct, passenger numbers are increasing as this was one of the reasons given for the latest fare rise

Is it worth it been every 10 or is this change sensible ? I'm a Calder Valley driver and yes I would think so, it's the hourly burnley service that is concerning. We get full standing loads in the AM and PM peak to/from Burnley even with deckers. The roadworks at Mytholmroyd has hit the service hard with delays being inevitable

I am also surprised that Todmorden to Burnley is going down to hourly. Initially, I thought that both the 590 and 592 were going half hourly each therefore replacing the 589 completely but maintaining the same frequency. If the 592 does go down to hourly, then it might be expected that Rosso would introduce a Burnley - Tod link. There has been competition on this section before!

I see the evening 301 is going down to hourly too - that didn't take long after the competition disappeared. Wonder if the last bus will disappear again during the week.
