Surprised the buses are allowed to be moved before an administrator is in place.

Surprised the buses are allowed to be moved before an administrator is in place. If they haven't actually gone bust, but have just ceased trading voluntarily, there won't be an administrator. So long as the value of their assets covers any debts they may have, there's no need for administration and it's up to them how they dispose of things.

If they company has ceased trading voluntarily and just closed it will interesting to see what action the Traffic Commisioners take in relation to the company just shutting the doors instead of giving the required statutory notice to withdraw routes etc.

Surprised the buses are allowed to be moved before an administrator is in place. If they haven't actually gone bust, but have just ceased trading voluntarily, there won't be an administrator. So long as the value of their assets covers any debts they may have, there's no need for administration and it's up to them how they dispose of things. It also does depend on who actually owns the buses, if they are leased/financed in such a way they are owned by a 3rd party finance house then it wouldn't be up to the administrator and it is very common in such circumstances for vehicles to be removed from the site quickly, before administrators turn up and complicate things. That said I suspect the Citaros were owned by Yourbus as they have been trying to sell them for some time directly, it is possible Yourbus may have sold them before the collapse to try & raise revenue as I think their fleet was larger than they needed and they just hadn't been collected before the collapse. This isn't as surprising as some are thinking, Yourbus have been teetering for a while and Rotala actually set up an O-License at Heanor so it appears they may have been looking at taking over but either time or financial condition scuppered it, DCC have been lining up potential backup coverage (just in case) for more than a month which is probably why everything is securely covered for Monday within hours of the news emerging. What was surprising was they were so deep in trouble given they had just moved into doing private hires & day trips and were buying brand new buses & coaches in the last 12-months, clearly someone took their eye off the ball and weren't on top of the state of the business. The suddenness of the collapse would make it surprising if this was voluntary, they ran their morning schoolbuses taking the kids in and stopped running around 0900 (DCC needed to secure operators to at least run the return school buses on Friday afternoon whilst the rest of the services will restart on Monday morning), if this had been in any way voluntary they either wouldn't have let anyone go out or they would have been able to cover the rest of the day as the buses were already fuelled and if it was voluntary you would assume they would keep enough money to pay the drivers so they would also finish their last shifts.

Fair point, dwarfer1919 - and you obviously know a lot more about what actually happened on the ground than I do!
