I do agree the majority of B7Ls are absolutely dreadful things, but one of the Halifax ones is surprisingly ok. Sounds like it will hang together for a few more years yet!

When Huddersfield received 37028-033 from FSY a few years back, 37031 was fire damaged so it never came, Rotherham's 37258 came instead initially on loan, but 031 was deemed beyond repair so 258 became a permanent transfer.

Correct, 37031 had an unexplained engine bay fire which did a lot of damage mainly to the electrics and spent 18 months being rebuilt and rewired, as it happens one of my ex fitters was driving it when it caught fire so it could have been a lot worse. 37258 went from Rotherham in its place mainly because of the cost of repairing it ie a new main wiring loom which if it had been sounded out beforehand may well have seen 37031 scrapped. Its never been a good bus, it had a bad frontal RTC with Leeds which came back to haunt it later with wiring faults and a lack of power attributed to the fuel pump but after being changed was still the same-i told the powers that be it was a gearbox fault as it was setting off in 2nd before dropping into 1st. Either way 37031 is now a Doncaster bus along with the recent 07 plate 3717*s from Glasgow which are very rough.

30562 and 30563 are in the process of being scrapped, as is 30917. Sad to see these go as they were decent buses.

Bramley have YG18CVS on loan, to be used to shadow the 5 route out of service. It’s a Yugong Electric Bus that’s come from Arriva apparently
