I noticed that 66746-YJ54 XVX has been repainted in to the lovely HX Connect livery. I tried to snap a shot of it but miserably failed. It was running the S7 today at Sowerby Bridge. It looks like their doing about one a week, So would take a couple of years just to do Halifax alone.

Maybe there might be some new vehicles brought or transfered into Huddersfield and Halifax to replace the ALX 400s and the rather tired and worn out 324**s Geminis as they are also almost as old as the ALX400s. Then in Halifax you will probably get mix and matched buses on the School Tenders. Hopefully we get brand new buses as Halifax and Huddersfield hasn't had an actual new bus for 6 years and then the no new double deckers for over 10 years.

There trying to rule out older fleet. Who knows, maybe they might get a clearner air zone in 3 years time?

First Halifax and Huddersfield aren't interested in getting Volvo B7RLEs. There trying to rule out older fleet. Who knows, maybe they might get a clearner air zone in 3 years time? Don't know where you've heard that from about trying to rule out older fleet. Expect some Volvos from elsewhere soon. I talked to a driver, he said that First Calderline and Huddersfield doesn't want anymore B7s. Already half of the B7s Halifax owned were transfered down south such as 32525, 32526, 32527, 32530, 32531, 32532, 32539, 32540, 37045, 37053, 37054, 37060, 37061 and 37062. Also I am not sure about the Huddersfield 324s though. They probably will be gone in the next years though. Huddersfield doesn't even take care of them as they smell like mold, they have so many mechanical mistakes and the interior is so bad it's literally rotting away.

Just because a driver said so it doesn't mean it's gospel. The man incharge of vehicle movements of the Group gave explanation about the transfer of the Geminis. Speak to anyone from Engineering, they'd all rather have a B7 Gemini or Eclipse over newer stuff... less goes wrong

Sorry didn't notice that. Also aren't refurbishment and repaint just the same thing. The definition of refurbish is to re-decorate and painting a bus is redecorating. Well, the Oxford definition includes "to repair and redecorate", and the Cambridge is "to make ... new again by ... painting, repairing, and cleaning". A simple external repaint fits neither of those. To my mind, a bus refurbishment would include at least replacing all the seat coverings and a full internal clean and repaint, but preferably adding modern features such as WiFi and charging points, and perhaps new seats, lighting, flooring, etc. A heavy refurb would also include mechanical upgrades, especially a cleaner engine. Presumably bus refurbishments in Oxford will be different to bus refurbishments in Cambridge - even for Stagecoach buses.

I hope that 69578 get's an interior refubishment as there is so much vandalism on that vehicle. Also does anyone know when the next double deck vehicle will get painted?

Spent a good 5/6 years on the 521 service which may be why... also rattles more than the others because of all that time going up and down Ovenden Way
