Saw a Gemini on 229 today, a MAX Gemini and noticed it had 229 Branding on it. Couldn't get a number but it was a MAX Gemini, I could see that. How long has the branding been on the geminis for 229? As I was under the impresssion it was just the Ex Belle Isle 110 E400's to get branding for it as I saw 1933 as well and that had branding too

It was only 2019 when the 229 changed to it's current route.

I think some of the E400MMCs have Strata homes ads on the rear, not sure if that's the one on 1983 but definitely on some of the 163/166 branded

MAX branding on 229 Gemini's been around at least 3 years Actually it's 5 years as they received MAX branding when the 229 still ran via Batley. It was only 2019 when the 229 changed to it's current route. Considering, its nearly 6 years (06/07/15) since I last drove a Gemini on the 229 route, when they weren't branded, it was easier for me to mention, that MAX branding for the 229 had been in for at least 3 years, to the original poster. Is it any wonder, that some staff in the industry, that used to give people the heads up about things happening, now no longer bother, when a few minority 'enthusiasts' have to argue the case that we're wrong. I've known since January this year about one of two things that are gonna happen at my current employer shortly.......and not bothered to let it out of the bag.

Sorry, but in what sense was he arguing that you were wrong? Quite the reverse, he was proving that you were right! - 5 years is quite definitely "at least 3 years", just improving the accuracy of your estimate a little. My reaction to that comment, had I made the "at least 3 years" one, would have been "thank you, I knew it was a few years, didn't realise it was as many as 5". Please don't be put off posting interesting tidbits from your insider's point of view - I'm sure there are plenty of people like me out here who would be interested to read such stuff, but are more lurkers on these forums than regular contributors. Yes, there are people willing to argue the toss about anything - you get them on every forum - but if you quote your credentials as you did above you will surely have more credibility than any of them. Look forward to hearing more from you.

The old Sapphire livery is a bit uninspiring. When I saw an Arriva Sapphire E400 in Gateshead the other week, it looked distinctly boring compared to many Go North East buses in the area.

As well, we all knew that the E200MMCs are going to be on the 231/232 and already, 1072 is branded for the 231/232! Link: flic.kr/p/2mbocrT

Does anyone know what the plans are regarding the Arriva Yorkshire repaint/refurb programme? In terms of whether they actually have a plan going forwards for what buses are going to be repainted or refurbed, as some of the Geminis at Dewsbury and Heckmondwike were painted into the new livery a while back now and received the blue route branding for 202/3 and 268, but the programme seems to have slowed down lately.. is there a plan to continue repainting the Max Enviros and Max Geminis and continue with the blue route branding, or could we see new/newer buses for these routes in the near future? Just seems a bit of a mish mash at the moment (if that makes sense!)

Programme is back up and running and apparently 4 vehicles are away at each time receiving attention - think it’s currently Wakefield benefiting from this , as their sapphires (15 regs) are being done

Saw the freshly painted Sapphire Enviros around Wakefield today.. looking very smart.. I notice that they haven’t been branded for 110 yet.. either they will be waiting til the route changes next month when it will no longer serve Hall Green, or perhaps they may be heading to Hecky to be branded for 229 if the 110 PVR reduces after the changes next month. Looking forward to seeing the ex-Kent Enviros having a refresh and hopefully the Belle Isle Max Enviros which have come across from Hecky will also be getting a repaint soon.. they are starting to look a bit tired and due a refresh to see them through the next few years.
