Why is this all in a thread called September? Not a thread for October. Not really of great importance for a thread on its own to just look pathetic with 3 replies or so...

Could have started an October changes thread. Hidden here, I’d like to put a bet on that someone will read this news elsewhere and repost it here as news in a new thread within about a week and it will be discussed again.

Exactly as I predicted, service 233 replaces services 81 & 82 to a reduced half hourly frequency, serving a combined route Huddersfield to Denby Dale via Highburton and Clayton West www.wymetro.com/buses/timetables/233

Don't suppose it really matters? I think it's about time 576 received new/newer buses. One of the busiest routes in the area that hasn't received an upgrade in what seems like forever!

Copied From ConnexionsBuses Facebook page
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that the service 38 will come to an end on the 29th September.
We took this service on when the previous operator couldn’t sustain it as their costs are higher than ours.
We give it a good go and have had good feedback from regular customers. Unfortunately though our insurance and fuel costs have risen, and another operator has started a similar service which has creamed some customers off ours. Couple all this to the impending Euro6 zone in 2020 and we can’t afford to replace the buses we have.
Any queries about a replacement service should be directed to Metro
Thank you for your custom

September changes are now up on metro website I see we have the usual clarity. Metro say the K16 at 1440 is going to be 10 minutes later. Keighley Buses say the 1440 and 1550 are both going to be 10 minutes earlier. I wonder how many 258s there will be to (partially) replace the 78.

www.wymetro.com/media/3882/public-transport-changes-ct112-01.pdfOdd, Metro mentioning the 257 in the comments on the 78 when there's no comments on the 257. Where did you see the 1550 K16 is running 10 minutes later? Metro don't mention it and Transdev say it'll be running earlier.

So the 85/85A is being withdrawn as well then, replaced by an hourly Transit van weekdays only.
It’s quite a major change from introducing the roaring 80s to basically giving up on the whole thing.
The numbering of what are now the tendered 83/84 sticks out. I’m guessing this will be a PVR of 2 buses.
Note also the withdrawal of the 315 and changes to start and end points of the 301 and 319 due to Honley depot closing.

K5 is a bit of a strange one. The time saving of missing out Parkwood Flats can't outweigh the fact a fair size number of people lose a bus completely. If you walk to the nearest stop on Park Lane you might as well walk in to town!

I suspect the additional journeys on the 324 are also due to Honley depot closing as I believe they still operated the weekday peak journeys.

K5 is a bit of a strange one. The time saving of missing out Parkwood Flats can't outweigh the fact a fair size number of people lose a bus completely. If you walk to the nearest stop on Park Lane you might as well walk in to town! On the contrary, given the low passenger usage (in my experience, anyway) and the amount of works being undertaken on the flats, the K5 is frequently diverted direct up Park Lane due to either works taking place or badly parked vans and trucks, so seems logical to divert it permanently. The only possible way round it would be to maybe allocate a Sprinter, but whether the 21 seats would be sufficient or if the Sprinter is sufficiently narrower, i don't know. If the two large blocks get finished and put back into use, there may be demand for a bus to be reinstated and may be less reasons causing it to be diverted, but at present, it's a sensible idea.

14’s will no longer serve Owlcoates, except a few journeys 15’s will now terminate at Park Row, I assume will work with 14’s. 56 will revert to Old route in Hyde Park 62 will cover old 15 route around East End Park x98 X99 to run the full length of North Street instead of Roseville Road This morning the 14 was terminating in infirmary street from pudsey and became 64 to aberford. Not sure if this is just for today?

One journey each way serves Brooksbank School

Metro have put new route number stickers up for forthcoming changes seen at Uni bus stop showing
1, A1, 1B, 28 ooops sack the proof reader!
Clearly didn’t read the route change leaflet, shocking really they can’t get such basic info correct, but the stops outside Uni have shown 97 towards Leeds despite not serving stop for a year!

I'm surprised they've put route number stickers up at all. On most stops they have up doing that long ago.
