Must be a new digital director somewhere. It's kinda like BT sport putting the football "scoreboard" in the bottom left (instead of Skys top left).
Change for the sake of change. And I can't accept this can possibly make a destination blind easier to read.

Scania 61035 clipped the scaffolding in Kirkgate yesterday, damaged rear side panels. thankfully scaffolding didn`t collapse, could have been a serious incident.

Noticed today that some Gemini 2's have had their nearside mirror overhang arm removed with the mirror just sitting on the bracket in front of the doors.

The first of the new fleet of 284 buses due for Leeds should be on routes 1 and 6 in the autumn, I`m unable to announce the vehicle type as yet due to First not publicly announcing it.

I imagine more MMCs. Can't imagine them buying more streetdecks. It would be cool if they went with the Enviro 400 City as the new standard decker in a unique Leeds livery rather than olympia. Just my thoughts but it would be better than just having skylines.

Should be looking at Nottingham for inspiration rather than the ridiculously bland 'Pulse' branding that means less than nothing to most bus users.

Do you know how many are coming this year? Is it just enough to cover the PVR of the 1 and 6? I gather these new buses will appear in small batches rather than a huge influx. There`s an all electric British double-decker coming on trial shortly, it will run on park and ride services for a limited period. The Euro6 re-engine programme for Leeds doesn`t mention any single-deckers , and I believe the 284 new buses are double-deck.

My sentiments exactly but alas unlikely, there could be a missed oppourtunity here. Leeds should have its own identity on buses.

The B9TL's? The Wright Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs that were new for the 2012 Olympic Games which all but 2 came to Leeds. They will probably be fleet nos 36203 - 36214 that will move.

12 x Streetlites coming from Swansea for Bramley depot & 12 x 12 reg 362xx B9TLs from Hunslet Park going the other way next week. This is interesting as First Cymru have very few deckers at the moment with just four at Port Talbot. Ravenhill depot currently have only thirteen Streetlites, ten of which are branded for Metro route 4. This route is going to 24 hour operation from 24 September, and as I recall is probably the highest frequency route they have, so maybe this would explain the upgrade to Gemini operation. If so Bramley can expect 47661 to 47664 and 47673 to 47678 all of which currently have red wedge fronts. The other two should then be two of 47681, 47684 & 47685 which currently have orange wedge fronts for route 87 in Neath and Port Talbot. It always seemed strange to me that Ravenhill would have these instead of Port Talbot depot anyway so maybe Port Talbot are taking full control of this route leaving two more Streetlite as surplus to make the round dozen heading North. For me this is the usual story, visiting far flung First operations, photographing their exotic buses only for them to then arrive in West Yorkshire a short while later, oh well I missed 47681, I can hope that one arrives in Bramley.

Mostly wrong I'm afraid, but you should score points for logic! If you fancy another guess, assume 10 (not 12) are being exchanged and also consider that while the Leeds buses are going to Swansea, Cymru might be sending buses back from one of its other depots.

With the 12 plate B9TLs going what's replacing them?

Ah, logic indeed as original post said Streetlites were actually coming from Swansea, If we are still looking for Streetlites there are eight in standard livery at Maesteg and three at Port Talbot so any ten from 47629-47635 & 47639-47642 which would be good for me as I missed almost all of the Maesteg batch.
If not those then, the only other logical batch, is ten from the 63079 to 63095 batch of Streetlite Max buses at Port Talbot. Again though, these are currently branded for Cymru Clipper but maybe those extra four seats make all the difference, again I hope not cos I got most of those in my camera crosshairs this May.
I'm gonna go with the Maesteg unbranded batch??? Or are they not going to be Streetlites at all...B7RLE's coming home???
Ten does look like the right number for route 4 in Swansea though so I assume Ravenhill Streetlites to other depots and Gemini's on the 4?

With the 12 plate B9TLs going what's replacing them? Hunslet will temporarily use some Bramley and Bradford DDs to allow the B9TLs go. These will go back home when new DDs arrive in due course. The Streetlites will then allow Scanias and/or B6BLEs to be withdrawn in the new year.

I won't spoil the surprise for when they arrive as things may change but you can claim points for Maesteg. I don't think Geminis are for the 4 though.

Hope that's right then cos I still have to photograph all but one of the Maesteg batch, I really can't say where they will use deckers otherwise, I seemed to pass through a lot of low bridges when I was down there in May, as you say, time will tell.

This is a stop gap until the first of the 284 new double-deckers arrive, beginning with routes 1 and 6, first 34 should arrive Sept/Oct.

The Streetlites aren't a stopgap, they are to replace some of the flowline Scanias and the B6s. As a temporary measure Bramley and Bradford will provide DDs to Hunslet to backfill for the DDs released. These will return when new buses arrive, but delivery is not as soon as Sept/Oct.
