does anyone know who won the airport service? I see on the October service change thread tiger have a variation accepted on 737 and 747 routes so assume they've kept the contract for them 2. Not seen anything about 757 or the harrogate link (previous 767 before been added to the Bradford services) the Harrogate sector is now covered by 747 and it was 737 before that.

The 757 is a commercial service, so wasn't part of the recent WYCA tender batch. They did indeed retain the contracts to provide the 737 and 747, under contract to WYCA.

My understanding is the 757 is a contracted service but Yorkshire tiger choose to provide some journeys additional to the specified service on a commercial basis.
I heard the other week that Yorkshire tiger, first leeds, stagecoach and arriva all have bid for the upcoming 757 contract. This from a driver at first leeds

Why would a First Leeds driver know who has tendered for a contract more than anyone else?

I am sure the 757 is mostly commercial with a number of tendered services. Don't forget at the start, both Centrebus and First ran the route after I am sure they both decided to try and operate it commercially.

Well the 737 is tendered, and the entire service was part of the recent tender batch, so yes that labelling does appear to contain errors!

Certainly when Centrebus took it on the 757 was almost entirely commercial though a couple of very early & very late journeys had some initial support at the start (did that change when it went 24-hour).

Now that Ay I going down the frequento branding is it guna trickle down to tiger? Not the frequento brand but a tiger version of it on certain routes/areas? You might want to proofread that. I have no idea what you're asking.

It does seem they are losing their roar as they've tweeted this morning giving the arriva customer service line as the new contact number to use.

That is a bit of a surprise. An elderly friend of mine had cause to complain about a driver earlier this year. She sent an e mail to YT which was ignored. She then sent the same e mail to Arriva customer services and quickly received a reply stating that "Yorkshire Tiger are not part of the Arriva Group. You need to contact the company direct". I hope folk do not get the same reaction now. Perhaps the recent heavy fine imposed by the Traffic Commisioners have caused someone higher up in the Arriva management to "take an interest"

Hi, I don't think this is a case of "losing our roar", it is a case of providing a better service for our customers. Previously compaints were handled, and logged by the depot supervisor. The transfer to the dedicated customer service team releases time for the depot supervisor to concentrate on day to day service delivery and regulating our services. Hope this clarifies the situation. Stuart Fillingham

I also look forward to seeing more of the tigers in Dewsbury from the end of the month when YT take over the free town bus.

On a couple of occasions of late I have parked my car near Honley Station to catch a train and I can't recall seeing a bus wash at Honley. Perhaps it a bucket and mop job there.

I recently travelled on 757 vers a to airport and was truly shocked by appalling state of bus interior ingrained grime on window ledges, bird mess over seats, floor was filthy, the rear bulkhead was black and in a freezing cold day no heating on, for an gateway service bringing people from the airport to Leeds who may never have been here before gave a shocking impression, my return trip four days later was on an Omani and really no better freezing cold dirty and with out of date metro signs really all rather unkempt

Dirty looking bus and inside could see Metro Newspapers all across the seats and some on the floor. Sent from my SM-G930F using proboards

The two solos I've been on in South Yorkshire are perfect examples in my opinion and if I didn't know anything about buses I'd think it's just come out of the factory. Be nice to see what the other buses are like when they send more over

I don't get to experience this mess that often as none of the Tiger ticket machines accept my Mcard (every single other company does), it always reads card error, sometimes it has done that for every person getting on the bus with a smartcard and the driver lets them on anyway knowing that their equipment is faulty.
