That'll be due to Forth Bridge closure, presumably?

I presumed it had been borrowed from Red & White to strengthen the services, thought they might have borrowed one without the welsh service branding though

Around 30+ buses have been drafted in from various depots around the country, to help Stagecoach maintain the Edinburgh-Fife services which would normally cross the Forth bridge. It is reported these extra buses are being based at Cowdenbeath depot, which Stagecoach closed earlier this year. Locally, Stagecoach Manchester has sent a few of the Magic Bus liveried E400's and ALX400's up there. Latest reports suggest the bridge will re-open first week into the new year (or even sooner),So now would be a good time to visit Edinburgh or Fife, as it'll probably be a long time before photo opportunities like these crop up again.

That'll be interesting. The last time I went on these services, they had the Plaxton coaches on. Have they been kept North of the Forth Road Bridge, while spares operate on the south, between Queensferry and Edinburgh.

From what i've gleaned from other forums, it would appear that upwards of 40 buses are now at Cowdenbeath. Regarding the Plaxton coaches and the other staples of the Edinburgh-Fife (and beyond) routes, the Omnicity tri-axle's, they are still in use on the full routes. The reason given for such a large influx of loanee's, is to maintain the same level of timetabled service departures despite the massive detour the bridge closure entails.
