The X78 livery and interior differs from the standard First express livery seen elsewhere in the country and in the photo of the alleged new X6 bus. The livery is based on the Rotherham Corporation shade of blue.

Just had to google the differences, can see the express livery is a tad indigo and a gold F, compared to the 2 tone Blue and silver F of the x78.
Look near identical there.

Another interesting thing is that HP have got both the traditional and MMC models of e400 if im not mistaken.

But the list shows HP getting tradtional & MMC e400s and either streetdecks or gemini 3s (which bramley and bradford r getting) where as bramley & bradford will be receving the streetdecks or gemini 3s whichever it as.

They've only ordered Scania's as they are (i believe) the only builders offering a gas powered vehicle.

Bus Lists On The Web shows FWY Streetdecks as numbered 35202-35221 and registered SL16 PZZ/RDY/Z/REU/RFE/F/J/K/N/O/X/Y/Z/RGO/U/V/Y/Z/RHA. Bit of confusion as 35218 and 35219 are both shown as registered SL16 RGY, one would presume 35218 would actually be SL16 RGW OR RGX.

Please could someone advise? Transdev have Volvo B5TL Gemini 3s not Streetdecks Thanks rst. I'm confused as I'd thought Streetdeck had replaced Gemini altogether. They look similar. I was thinking Gemini 1 was like First Leeds 04/06 plates (i.e on B7s). Gemini 2 like their 07-09 plates on B9s and Gemini 3 like their 12 plates on B9s (with revised front styling). The new First Street decks definitely look higher than Transdev's 36 Leeds/Ripon Gemini buses.

The new First Street decks definitely look higher than Transdev's 36 Leeds/Ripon Gemini buses. The Wright Gemini body history/timeline, can indeed be confusing. A good source of reference is the official WrightBus website, as it shows the difference's in the Streetdeck and Gemini 3 bodies/chassis combo's etc. You are basically right with your assumption that B7's were the original Gemini's, B9's were Gemini 2's, but the 12 plate B9's you refer to are actually Gemini 2's (facelifted version). AFAIK no B9's have been built with the Gemini 3 body, the only option from Wright was the B5 or B5 Hybrid engine with this body. To muddy the waters further, there are actually two versions of the Gemini 3 body, rather than try and explain, my tip would be to visit Stuart Montgomery's Flickr Lothian Buses site where you can see the difference's yourself, as Lothian are one of the few operators that have both types of Gemini 3 in use.

Many thanks rst for your explanations above. I'll check out the references you suggest. Not quoted in order to save space.
Even more confusing Geminis are those on Transdev's ex 36 vehicles that I'm now seeing regularly on the Cityzap and Red Express services. Original Gemini back (never liked that) semi rebodidied to have face lifted Gemini 2 fronts! Let's call them Gemini 1.5 :-) Sorry to go slightly off topic.

Most if not all of these are now parked at Bradford for temporary storage. Just to clarify on the Streetdeck / Gemini issue, the easy way to understand it is that the name Streetdeck name only applies to the complete Wright built vehicle ; ie both chassis and body are built by Wright similar to Streetlite. Although the body is similar it's a Gemini 3 when built on a third party chassis such as Volvo B5TL. You're wright, sorry right about the Gemini 3 with two styles, the very early examples had the main body style of the new Gemini 3 with smaller windows etc but they had the Gemini 2 front, ie similar front as on Leeds 36181-278. Don't think that option is offered now.

The B9s were not Gemini 2s, only the ones with the different front, which in Leeds's case is the 12 plate ones, are Gemini 2, all earlier ones are just Gemini's.
Why they are not going straight into service? Because there is no rush, they'll wait until they are mostly all here, drivers have been trained, and they will be launched all at once. I wouldn't be surprised, particularly for those going to Bradford, that they end up parked up for weeks with enthusiasts getting impatient

IIRC, there are actually 3 versions of the Gemini 3 as those ordered by Dublin Bus have the 'facelifted' front end but with different windscreens.

According to the press release, OG are due 10 new buses, only 5 on this list. OG is due deckers and not single deckers as the list says, the amounts of Streetlites for Rotherham & Doncaster also don't coincide with how many buses are due there. Wouldn't want to be in First's shoes if we were to get new single deckers with what already has been major decreases in capacity.
