Looking at the timetable, looks like more Victoria journeys and less direct Piccadilly ones from Leeds . What will happen for those that want to make quicker Piccadilly connections, say those who need to swap to Virgin or cross country trains. ( now have to circumnavigate around Manchester City centre via Victoria and Oxford Road)

Looking at realtimetrains it looks like the true expresses seems to be taking the same amount of time near enough either via Guide Bridge or via Man Vic with a journey of near enough an hour Leeds to Man Pic, only the one that becomes the stopper takes longer

When they take on the stoppers they'd BETTER launch a sub-brand that ditches the word 'Express' from the name!

Adding those stoppers in will confuse passengers for travelling. Especially for Piccadilly passengers now that the true expresses are Victoria journeys.

How about Transpennine Snail “Transpennine Walk or Transpennine Ale Trail” can see TPE need to rebrand the local services

For when I come to West Yorkshire this summer I am torn as to whether to use TPE then. I have yet to decide whether I prefer to use the Ordsall Curve for the first time on the way to Huddersfield / Leeds or as part of my next Manchester-area trip?

Maybe try an all stoppers Piccadilly to Leeds then return on the new Express route via Victoria and Ordsall Curve back to piccadilly.

If Huddersfield rather than Halifax proves more useful, I may well do something like this. I could indeed use the slow service to Huddersfield then come back to Victoria, or stay on to Piccadilly via the Ordsall Curve if I feel like it on the day.

A few problems this morning, the first loco hauled Liverpool to Scarborough service was a delayed 185 to Leeds, the following loco hauled diagram is cancelled.

Can't remember where I read the details but I am sure that certain trains will be loco hauled. I think they are a diesel loco with 5 carriages the end one partly converted for driver operation. Scarborough to Liverpool springs to mind but I stand to be corrected if I am mistaken. This stock is in addition to the carriages being constructed overseas.

The "Nova" fleet does not arrive until the Autumn. What then is the loco hauled stock being currently used.

It would be good to know which TPE services will be class 68 and which will be 185s. Even though it’s early days, Is the new service pattern, with more expresses to Victoria decent.

I read in the current Rail magazine that 2 185`s are being loaned to Northern and replaced by loco hauled stock on the Liverpool to Scarborough route, the trains have 2 class 68`s, one back and front with 4 mark 3 carriages. The diagrams were listed too, due to start from May 20th. Those particular trains were cancelled yesterday in the morning.

The Class 68 diagrams are delayed until after the Liverpool Blockade due to numerous reasons, mainly Delays in crew training and problems with the stock. It is currently estimated the temporary 68 Top and tail with Mk3 solution will start late July and finish around October/November when the Mk5's are ready.

Interesting information in the news today that First have overbid on TPE and are writing off £106m to account for this, in addition to this bombshell the chief executive Tim O’Toole has been sacked www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44312684

Interesting development is that when the Mk3 rakes enter service, they will be unsuitable for wheelchair passengers as there is no DDA compliant facilities on board. Might not be too big a problem between, say, Leeds and Manchester given the high frequency of alternative journeys but as these will be working to Scarborough, it puts large gaps in the timetable for disabled passengers.
