Hi, thanks for your suggestions. We are awaiting the completion of the roadworks in Garforth before reviewing the service. I spoke to the Highways dept last week, they hope for completion on 24th Oct. Passenger numbers are good, which is a major achievement given the disruption to the service caused by traffic in Garforth from day one.

Just wondering how you doing with the look for the low floor vehicle that you mentioned you may get before?

not sure on the look, will be something similar to the deckers I should imagine, unless I get a flash of inspiration.

no problem
we get a few passengers wanting to board with prams, and occasionally an enquiry about wheel chairs, so recently we bought P509 from HJC. We'll put that out for a bit, after a coat of paint and a deep clean.
The numbers on the 22 service are ok, not enough to fill a decker, but we knew that from the start. What concerns me at the moment is that as good as the Spectras are, they're not low floor hence the switch to more suitable vehicles. The service was started using what we had, the service is proving successful, so we are buying something more suitable to run on it.
We are awaiting delivery of an old solo that we're buying from Dawsons. It was bought just for a little school run we do, but would do very well on the service. We have an Enviro on loan whilst the Solo is prepped for us, but that won't be going on service, due to its' white livery and the fact that it is worth a fortune and I don't want it damaging So it does 8 miles a day, and gets parked in the corner of the yard wrapped in cotton wool.

Bingo Sqrpeg, I've just come up with another cracking idea, the revised 62 will mean Cross Green Ind Estate will have a reduced to hourly frequency as well as a increase in route, can't understand why Tiger haven't made use of the new road, no wonder their loosing custom hand and fist from the estate, anyway how about a peak hour express between Leeds Corn Exchange and Cross Green Ind Est via the new link road returning via Cross Green Lane to pick up custom from there AM peak and operating the reverse PM peak (Leeds - Cross Green Lane - Ind Est then non stop via new link road to Leeds) say every 20 mins. It's a ever expanding estate and the area around Cross Green Lane has seen recent housing rebuids, no problem with using the step buses as well as can't see too many people with prams boarding, only the odd few on Cross Green Lane.

Its a shift work area, unless you have detail of when the workers will come off shift, then it wont work.

Ah but I do know first hand that the busiest periods are between 7am and 8.30am towards the estate, and 4pm to 6pm from the estate. I've lived up there far too long..... thank god I moved lol!

At least you are doing well with your service, starting up very slowly and working on things step by step. Hopefully things continue to be good.

Scratch that last thought about Cross Green peak services, it turns out the 62/A will operate via yet another variation (in fact 2!) in the Cross Green/EEP area, morning peak journeys will run towards the Ind Est via Easy Road and Pontefract Lane, more direct than around the houses, stranger still is that evening peak journeys will run from the Ind Est via the link road straight to Leeds, so that's variations for peak, off peak Mon to Fri day, off peak evenings and Sundays, and for Saturdays during the day. What the hell do Tiger think they're playing at, getting lost in the inner city ghetto jungle perhaps? By the way I can call it that as I've lived there for far too long.

That's Bus & Coach painters. I thought that First were painting their own But some other companies have 'green' school buses too, like CT Plus, who don't have the facilities to paint buses, that's where bus and coach painters come in.

Is Red Bus Days' Olympian N324NHG now a Squarepeg vehicle? It was seen a few weeks ago operating the CH24 which is one of their services.

Spectra k306 was on 22 today nice surprise ex m-travel tried out the 22 for the first time today really good bus journey well used and very popular! And it must be said, kudos to Squarepeg for introducing this service nearly a year ago and not fiddling about with the route or timetable since then. Having a timetable in place long enough for people to begin to know it by heart will surely be a big selling point for the service. It also shows they were pretty accurate when setting up the timetable in the first place. A fine example of how starting slow and steady can often win the race.
