I saw a squarepeg bus today on a school service in Thorner with School Service All Passengers Welcome, does this mean general public can travel or just school passengers?

The general public are permitted to travel on all school services where normal fares are taken and they aren't a closed contract.
None do so though, it's probably a legal loophole thing.

In the 90s I used to use a school bus to get to a school along the route and paid the normal half fare. If u wanted to get on or off along the route u wae able to do so. Was horsforth l36 at the time ran same route as the 50. Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards

How would the general public know where a school bus goes too and where it serves. Even I don't know where half the school buses that pass my home at 7:30am go too

I drive school buses and the amount of time people put their hand out for a big yellow bus with School bus on front destination is unbelievable.

Since I had them do it to me whilst I was training in a coach in a distinctively different livery to any of the local buses, no destination blind & ruddy great 'L'-plates, I would find it quite believable.

I heard a lady put her hand out for an ambulance ( blue flashing lights) thought it was a 91 bus.
I've seen a square peg bus in the morning . ( scania east lancs citizen or an optare spectra start from woodpecker junction at beckett street . Displays SOA which from a tad distance looks like 50A lol. ;D

Noticed that Square Peg are running a school service from Menston St Marys to Bramley, however JB travel also run the same service and Transdev Keighley run part route to Horsforth. Always used to be Transdev and a single decker BMC condor, but Square and JB run double deckers. End result is that the buses are a lot more empty than they used to be

They also have Spectra K125PGO in fleet livery. This is usually seen on the SP2.

Seeing Spectra K110VLJ this morning on the SP2 reminded me that these haven't been mentioned in the fleet list. Think they've got K103/105 as well.

Yes, but not at the minute. We've all seen what happens to operators who rush in.
