Think you mean Deutsche Bahn, remember we are talking about a multi-national French based company.

Think you mean Deutsche Bahn, remember we are talking about a multi-national French based company. I can never remember the name of Arriva's owners lol but they seem to be on a bit of an acquiring mission at the moment what with purchasing Grand Central and their not so successful Malta operations. On the other hand, is there anything to stop Transdev buying back the 50%?

The size of the Veolia Transdev company is so vast, the amalgamated Group currently operates in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States and it has 119,000 employees and €8bn in Revenue. It operates Ferries, Trains, Trolleybuses, Trams, Buses, Car Hire, Cycle Hire, Coaches and numerous other activities. Only a multi-national conglomerate such as Keolis, Nobina or Comfort DelGro could have the bidding power for such a firm. DB would probably fall foul of competition law in the UK and Germany so I would suspect it will not be them. I'll wait and see and maybe I'll eat my hat if First or Stagecoach goes for it!

Transdev aren't a major player in the UK, especially now parts have been sold off to RATP so I wouldn't have thought if DB purchased them they would have a higher % market share than First.

I thought that RATP owned part of Transdev and part of the merger with Veolia was that RATP had to divest so they could re-merge now. Apparently RENFE were showing interest in Go-Ahead at one point.

As RATP wish to expand in Britain I think they could buy the Veolia stake in Veolia Transdev, at least in Britain. I think they were reluctant to work with Veolia, hence their claim to parts of Transdev as part of the Veolia/ Transdev merger.
