I hope they use that Royale on their Tadcaster school service as it would then possibly meet up with its sisters operating for York Pullman

I saw it today running through Methley on the 916 I believe. I wondered wether Connexions had, had any Tender Wins. That answers that question then

I have noticed the following in the last issue (5th September) of the North Eastern Notices and Proceedings:
Public Inquiry (49167) to be held at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, LEEDS, LS9 6NF, on 11 September 2014 commencing at 10:30(Previous Publication:(2013) ) PB1064235 SN M TRAVEL LTD T/A M TRAVEL LTD D irector(s): MARGARET BROWN, DARREN MAYES. VANGUARD YARD, CARR WOOD ROAD , CASTLEFORD WF10 4SB PSV - S17 - Consideration of disciplinary action under Section 17 (The Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981) PSV - Sch.3 - Consideration of Transport Managers Repute under Schedule 3 (The Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981) PSV - S28 - Consideration of disciplinary action under Section 28 (The Transport Act 1985)
I haven't really taken much notice of the section previously but with it being M Travel, a local operator it drew my attention. Does anyone know in an around about way, what the above may be for although I do appreciate know one will know for the above case specifically.

Can I suggest that you google the relevant act and hopefully you should get the government website. It takes a fair bit of reading but it should explain all. Repute, record keeping and other matters are covered. Hope it helps

Your answer and having a quick look has given me a good idea. Thanks.

14:45 BUS FIRM CRITICISED OVER SAFETY Martin Coldrick, BBC Local Live A bus company based in West Yorkshire has been told it must improve its safety record. The Traffic Commissioner's curtailed the operating licence of M Travel in Castleford after an inquiry showed a number of problems with maintenance. The company was given a previous warning last year - and the Commissioner has said it can now only operate 26 vehicles instead of its usual 30 - and that will be reduced to 20 from November.

Transport bosses have cut the number of buses a Castleford firm can operate after an enquiry found a number of safety failings. M Travel, which runs services to schools across the Five Towns, had its operating licence cut by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner after an investigation into its vehicles found a number of maintenance defects. A public enquiry last Thursday heard that one vehicle had serious braking defects, which were potentially seriously dangerous, another had an insecure emergency window, which was likely to fail, and a third had a flat tyre with one of the wheel nuts insecure. As a result of the investigation by the Traffic Commission and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, the firm, which also runs service buses across the area, is not allowed to operate more than 26 vehicles following the hearing and it will not be able to run more than 20 buses from the end of October. During the hearing Kevin Rooney, the bus and coach industry regulator for the north east of England said the firm had “gone backwards” since it last appeared at an inquiry last year. Mr Rooney added the company failed to provide a maintenance audit of its vehicles. He said: “The failure to provide that on time shakes my trust in the operator’s intention to operate compliantly. “It is also concerning that neither the operator nor the transport manager appears to be pro- active in addressing the maintenance issues.”

Why are you sorry. This company appears to have had warning with regard to keeping vehicles fit for service. As a parent and grandparent I would be worried if my grandchildren were travelling on buses that were not fit for purpose. In fact I would be worried if I was a passenger on a bus that was not suitable to operate on the public roads

In fact I would be worried if I was a passenger on a bus that was not suitable to operate on the public roads I would hope that VOSA would be taking an interest in the vehicles operated by Tates. A bit worrying when clearly he was overloaded, only one passenger door opens, there are more lights on the dash board than at Blackpool Illuminations (including a brake pad wear light) and several other faults that clearly indicated that the bus required attention !! I had M Travel down as one other better 'cowboy' operators ! Penfold

Some buses have 1 button for each door, so they open 1 door to make it better to board school kids.

Shame to hear this,i wonder if theyve got to lose 10 buses worth of work it will affect schools or there public services? The fact the main licence cut doesn't come in until end of October suggests they may have to drop some school services (rather than coming in immediately and having the headache of dealing with schools straightaway) Be interesting to see who would step in as when it comes to traditional double deck school services, M Travel have a near monopoly in their patch. Arriva and Geldards would be the two obvious candidates.

I wonder if 634 could be returning from Tiger.......
