I wonder if they are going to Malta? Arriva need to send loads of buses there, so it maybe a possibility. They couldnt cope with the warm English weather so will have no chance in Malta's 35+ degree heat, unless they get heavily modified to be able to cope ! Penfold

I can't imagine Arriva will send out any old buses from the provincial fleets when they have ordered 174 King Longs and 10 hybrids and are also sending 58 articulated Citaro's which are no longer needed in London. There are also a few King Long's already in Malta which will be refurbished. Have you seen the size of Malta....how many more buses could they possibly need?

Reopening this subject to report that AY 436 (R989FNW) has today re-entered service at Belle Isle. To mark it joyful return it was last seen doing a good impression of a Darwen Olympus and doing a few trips on the 110's !

Reopening this subject to report that AY 436 (R989FNW) has today re-entered service at Belle Isle. To mark it joyful return it was last seen doing a good impression of a Darwen Olympus and doing a few trips on the 110's ! Penfold It would surely make sense if they transfer 2 to Dewsbury to replace some of the remaining ikarus's as a low floor replacement.

439 is now with Arriva Scotland West I understand.
I am led to believe that it may be re-numbered into a new five digit series (as with First & Stagecoach) early next year.
Could this mean that Arriva Yorkshire's new buses will be so treated, or is the Scottish arm a testbed for the future?

Speaking of Prestiges, wonder where 436 has gone. Not seen it since it did it 3 day stint back in service. Will have to investigate !

Send them one way to hell..! I didn't realise that they were in line to be transferred to Selby for their final days! They would be OK there nice flat routes and the drivers might over time get to embrace them
