K-Line have now got WLT 528 Volvo Olympian NC from Huddersfield Bus Company this was told to me by a K-Line driver today and this is the first double deck ever to be in the K-Line fleet, it will probably be getting painted but not at Honley depot as no double deckers can fit in the garage.

I wonder if it will be re-badged as DAF bus like Solos and (when they were in the fleet) the UVG bodied Darts

I'd be interesting to see a double decker repainted into K-Line livery.
Presumably it's for schools, but then if they've tendered for a double deck schools contract I wonder why they just aren't running it from Waterloo

I think it could be for services, I suggested if they could put it on the 900 route which would be really good ;-D

They are both owned by Arriva but they manage everything separately and they loan each other buses when needed.

K-Line & Huddersfield Bus Company are two seperate companies with two seperate licenses but there is nothing to otherwise seperate the two operations. The double-deckers are operated by K-Line because the school service they are for is far easier to operate from the Honley depot than from Waterloo so it makes sense for the vehicles for the service to be worked from Honley. However vehicle maintenance should be undertaken at Waterloo (due to the as previously mentioned issue of the height of the depot).
Two vehicles are nominally based at K-Line 807 (K7YCL) & 810 (WLT528).
For a period after takeover the two operations were jointly managed (along with Bowers) by a area manager (as was in place at the time for Centrebus South & Centrebus North) but this has now ended with each depot manager reporting to the board directly.

Olympian 807 was working a Huddersfield Bus service yesterday, so am guessing the two double deckers out based at Honley are swapped around as and when maintenance dictates. Or are they used in normal service between school times?

The two at Honley must be allocated daily although I cannot remember ever seeing 810 on the 231/2. The really lucky passengers on the 231/2 also got 804 as well as 807 today

810 never works public services as it doesn't have any destination blinds fitted. Last year it was usually dedicated to Shelley/Kirkburton schools services

I think both K-Line and Huddersfield Bus Co is managed by someone called Russell Arden. Russell used to manage both bus operations of Centrebus in Huddersfield, and aslo look after Bowers of Glossp, but he left the organisation some months ago.

K-Line now have an ex Perth Park & Ride Daf Wright Cadet, registration YD02RBX in service today on route 366 Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to Balmoral Avenue. It seems K-Line are looking into new buses possibly? Or covering for another bus which is off the road. Ether way, Wright Pulsar2 VDL SB200 demonstrator YJ59AZA is currently out in service on the 324B to Meltham. davidsnonrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p63440197.htmlThe bus has previously been on hire to Arriva North East and First South Yorkshire. I was thinking the same, as solo MX06BTE was noted as only on hire, but since recieved fleet names and fleet livery. If someone (from the company preferably) could confirm this is the case i would be grateful.
Many thanks in advance

Just because it has had fleet names applied doesn't mean its acquired. Its probably still on lease. Its not hard to add/remove the vinyls as and when the bus comes on/off lease.

A few years ago Preston Bus had a number of demonstrators and hire buses in their fleet. All gained fleet numbers and Preston Bus lettering but non of them stayed more a few weeks.
Also in having the K-Line sticker on the front of the Pulsar it does make it easier to identify who its working for since First work the same route with similar looking buses.

Hence the blue round the bottom was added to the white bus and full logos applied.
