I dont see why not, it has to pass an emissions test during its MOT. Is it cost effective though, that would be the main question.

Not a problem, refurbing a vehicle means lots: Keeps the mechanics skills in top condition teaches new mechanics skills maybe more cost effective Nostalgia.
There's some thing about been on a HJC bus that you dont get on a First or Arriva bus!

Im glad that they are doing it, keeping abit of nostalgia within the industry. Could bite them in the arse though if it needs repairing alot etc.

I say good luck to them - as I've already commented on the forum, HJC are running the oldest buses in West Yorkshire (and possibly the country!) in all day stage carriage service. I don't wish to sound pedantic, but the bus mentioned (KYO 624X) is 'only' 27 and a half years old - registered Sep 1981!

How old were the route masters when LT retired them, know they had "modern" engines but they still kept going, HJC are just doing something similar and good luck!

The newest Routemasters were ___F reg making them new in 1968, some of these these lasted until 2005 in ordinary sevice, making them 37 years old. However, many older examples remained in sevice until that date, making them 40+ years. It is pleasing to be able to note that a small fleet of about 10 buses, I think, are still used on 2 'heritage' routes in London. Hope this helps answer a few questions.

Think HJC have similar RMs and open tops for wedding work too.

This bus seems very strange with the window (ex door) panelled over. Should have left the door on or put in a window. Passengers are not gonna sit in front of a panel and the inside will seem dark! Anyway apart from that this bus looks ace. Well preserved.

It never had a middle door while with HJC, but I agree that they should have put a window in from a scrapped metrobus

i wished they used it a bit more like on the 16:55 536 trip from huddersfield to halifax Yes i think it should be on a better route than 392 then one 34 trip and one 509 trip and four 28A's and a school run C7 and 392. They have re done all the seatS and use it on a school run. It sould do plate AR1.

Metrobus B203 WUL was withdrawn yesterday, due to it been double door, the MOT running out and it leaked like mad, it has a good 25 year life though.
