Another Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban has arrived at Fleetwood Docks over the weekend for First West Yorkshire and is as follows:
69472 YJ09NYH.
Does anybody know if this is the start of another batch for Leeds?
Chris.

Bradford and Leeds get new buses all the time, why do Halifax and Huddersfield always get treated unfairly and get the old ones!

Because Bradford and Leeds make more money
Plus Halifax and Huddersfield got a large influx of new buses in 2005

This is the first of 20 for Bradford. maybe then removing either the 1999/2000 B10BLEs or the K..LAE Olympians then? In the last few years when Bradford receive new buses instead of the older Olympians leaving the Royales and most of The ALX400s have gone instead. So if Bradford are getting new buses the remaining ALX400s may probably be cascaded to other fleets instead of the K-LAES Olympians

You'd suggest replacing double deck ALX400s with single deck B7RLEs?

Its more likely that the Wright Renowns will leave the fleet instead (on the basis of new buses in, nearly new ones out).
The ALX400s will likely go if more Gemini's arrive in Bradford. And if you look at the fleet now, Bradford have 'almost' double the amount of low floor Decker's, prior to the 2006 Gemini's being put to use.

Wouldn't the K___LAE's be withdrawn in July anyway with them not been needed anymore for the 711 and 653 services.

No Bradford still has G-JYGs and G-OWRs Leyland Olympians left which would probably be withdrawn first with the K-LAEs being used mainly on school journeys when the next batch of new buses arrives

The K___LAE's are all being fitted with electronic destinations (which partially hide the last service number). Each one costs over £1000 and were transferred from Bristol with the intention of them being in service for 2 years.
Also counted at least 8 new buses at Bradford Depot this afternoon, the lowest 37703 and the highest 37732 so it could be we are getting 30 new buses.

Theres plenty of new singles at Bramley, usually on the 8/9 and on routes like 16s & 49s somedays.

One of the outcomes of Bradford's new influx of buses combined with recent service3 is a 100% low floor service, except if they have a few breakdowns.

Does anybody know how many new Geminis are due for First West Yorkshire? My guess is that it is at least 45+ already (saw 37730 today in Bradford) following on from 37685. They are good buses, but the fleet is sadly becoming ever more standardised.

The highest number I've seen is 37735 in Bradford although they could be higher ones.

Bradford and Leeds get new buses all the time, why do Halifax and Huddersfield always get treated unfairly and get the old ones! There is logic behind their madness - its simply because thats where they get a higher return on their investment. It's not about you, Joe Public, riding the bus into town, its about giving those poor shareholders what they deserve - huge returns! And by the way, some of us aren't even lucky enough to have had new buses from FG since 2003... Oh no, wait, we've had God knows how many ''new'' ALX400's in the past year that apparently cost 180,000 each!

I believe these 5 B9's (37752 to 37756) will be allocated to Bramley - if the current rumour is correct.
