I wouldn't be surprised to see the return of buses to Fairburn Drive as well, a local councillor acting for residents in this part of Garforth was informed by Arriva this could happen if they were awarded 'The Springs contract'.

All gone very quiet it seems. Seems daft as there are real car parking issues on a weekend.

Excellent to hear. Is there any indication that these routes will run via Manston Lane both ways? The only way that the given 9 minutes timetable time between Seacroft Hosp and Thorpe Park at peak times can be achieved realistically is via Manston Lane and William Parkin Way Bridge.

I wonder if this means Castleford need more deckers to run it with the 165 changes

I think this is excellent news, Well done Arriva! Some positivity from Arriva and for the councillors who pushed to get someone to run services via Thorpe. An excellent excellent changes.

If you click the journey number it lists every stop it will make and Manston lane is listed there

That's a distinct improvement to the evening service between Leeds and Castleford.

I hope the residents of Kippax will be pleased with these changes

I hope the residents of Kippax will be pleased with these changes Well it's 6 buses an hour from the highstreet to Leeds, plus creating new links and restoring lost ones.

It was 6 buses an hour to Kippax back 20 years ago in 2003. It was briefly increased to 8 buses an hour in 2004 with alternating services terminating at Kippax and the other half at Castleford.

Wow there's some service improvements! Great news.
2 areas of Leeds (Manston Lane near ELOR) and Fairburn Drive go from NOTHING to every 15 minutes.
East Garforth terminus seems very over bussed now. I've seen literally only ever 2 or 3 people riding any bus up to Garforth from there. I wonder if the 19/19A aren't going to be serving that area.
Shame nothing via Halton or to Cross Gates train station but I understand the latter may be served in September.

I wonder how well these services are doing.
Seems better loaded than the X26/7 ever was.

I wonder how well these services are doing. Seems better loaded than the X26/7 ever was. Probably because the X26/7 went nowhere else. A local bus service connecting the shopping centre with local towns is much more practical as it can link up new places for shopping, work etc. rather than acting as a shuttle to the city centre where there is already huge competition between shops.

Find it odd the 19a peak services are still running there.

Find it odd the 19a peak services are still running there. I suppose they probably always had a good loading of people working in the office park and if people have always used that to get to/from work they'll probably continue to do so

Never seen a 165 with more than six people on it personally, however 164 still seems as busy as usual, not sure if it's had an effect on Thorpe Park The early morning 0440, 0540, 0640 Kippax to Leeds services are busy when I catch these services and those at peak times can be almost all seats taken on the 165. It doesn't quite help that the 165 runs almost at exactly the same time as the 64 most of the day in both directions so these are pretty much leap frogging each other from town to Manston Lane and vice versa depending on which bus is slightly ahead, the one ahead will have more passengers on it. Sometimes the 64 is much emptier with the 165 just ahead of it.
