Would be better just pedestrianising Hall Ings between Jacobs Well & Bridge Street. It is not just buses that going to suffer from this, Shops & businesses will have issues with their deliverys & at least two taxi ranks will need to be relocated as well.

Well another few months have passed and still nothing been said by First on what will happen to all the buses when the likes of Hall Ings etc are closed to traffic. Surely things need to be in the planning sooner rather than later? I’m concerned that journey times and reliability will suffer when these changes are finally implemented.

The road closures and hence changes to bus routes are planned to take place in February 2024, so there is plenty of time yet

Sunbridge Road inbound is now closed at bottom of Sackville street junction. 607 First and 67 Transdev both loose even more time travelling into the city now as they now detour up Barry Street and back down Godwin Street. They also have lost the stop opposite near the old Sunwin house TJ Hughes which was useful for alighting. Could do with a replacement stop prior to Barry Street near the Sun pub putting in place.

So we are now around 1 month from the proposed date of major road closures, reroutings and alterations in Bradford City Centre. Has anyone heard anything yet as it’s strangely quiet considering the level of service reroutings and timings that will need to be implemented ? Surely the public (and staff) need to know as soon as possible rather than at the last minute just where they will be catching buses and what services are going where?

Depending how long it takes to get the Interchange fixed the start date could be pushed back?

Bradford Council on Brink of going bankrupt & looking at ways to reduce their spending, if I was in change I scrapped this pedestrianising project

Bradford Council on Brink of going bankrupt & looking at ways to reduce their spending, if I was in change I scrapped this pedestrianising project Bradford Council got money from central government (£43m) specifically for the pedestrianisation so there might be questions/legal costs if it does get scrapped because of their day to day budget issues.

Would love to know where the obsession with cycle lanes and pedestrianisation has come from. They clearly don't ask any members of the public because I have yet to meet anyone who thinks they're a good idea and wanted them in the first place. As Joseph said, it only works in places which easy access for both cars and public transport. Burnley works well because it's all flat and a stones throw away from the bus station with stops in the town centre too. Not to mention the large car parks and parking areas around the town.

Most of the current roadwork orders run to 17th or 24th March so either of those seem likely. I'm sure details will be released once they are finalised at registration date, though as said the Interchange issues may putter a spanner in the works.

I do agree, Aachen Way and King Cross Road cycle-ways in Halifax I have seen roughly around 1 person every month use them. I should know as I travel here a lot to get to town!

That one has been there for a few months now, and the inbound one needs to be retained once the roadworks are finished so that it’s a permanent place to alight near the Sun pub.
