Holes in the roof of their buses???!! Daniel Stazicker has photographed LX54 GZZ on the Ring Road with some holes on the roof and I'm sure someone else has photographed another somewhere on the way to Pudsey.

Holes in the roof of their buses???!! As long as they've got holes in the floor as well then the rain can drain straight out again...

One of their buses was parked down by the station inn pub at calverley today with 30 on the destination.
Driver was asleep on back seat with engine running. No service was operating on the short journeys. I suspect he was parked up out of the way so no-one saw him.
What a shower this company is !

No I couldn't because for a start I'm unsure if he's given everyone permission to share and secondly I haven't a bloody clue how to, as everyone knows I'm not that competent with tech, don't have a smartphone for a start.

I haven't shared it. I put a link to where he's publicly displayed it. If he changes his mind he can stop anyone seeing it. Everyone doesn't know that - I didn't for a start - it's possible to learn, though instead of just being grumpy. You just copy the line at the top of the screen when looking at the pic and pop it in a message here.

One of them normally parks up in the lay-by on the ring road opposite the flower van.

A driver told me it only operates 0900-1400 between schools regardless of what the timetable says !
I rang the operator three times who never answered.
Rang metro ..they said nothing to do with us ring the operator !

WYCA need to get real, and super tough on all operators too. If A&A have taken on this silly contract knowing they can't fully operate all journeys because of stupid school work (make em walk to school, call it an additional PE lesson!) then WYCA should strip them of the contract. The get real bit is should an operator not be found because they're tied up or not interested then the contract doesn't go ahead, with some bits replaced by an existing contract that get's amended to provide enough cover without extra resources. The 30 could be replaced by running the 80 via Woodhall, Calverley and Rodley back to Bramley twice a day, that'll do for the numbers using it, yes it does mean for no extra resources the 80 reduces in frequency but it's only used by free passes so they can't complain too much.

I’m guessing the 30 has developer funding and will get withdrawn when it runs out anyway

I think the best idea is running at as an hourly extension of TLC Travels 205 service from Dewsbury to Pudsey.

I think the best idea is running at as an hourly extension of TLC Travels 205 service from Dewsbury to Pudsey. TLC are even struggling to run 205 hourly some days. Plus most of the 205 extends to Owlcoates. If anything they should ask Squarepeg to do a review of the 31 again and see if the 30 can tie in (pudsey is served with with 9 too).

The problem is that route 30 uses developer funding (S106 I think?),so when the developers got planning permission it would of stated the minimum level of service they'd have to provide (E.G a 30 Minute service for 10 Years) so if they only had a route 80 running a few times a day then the developers could end up having issues. At the moment the choice (& tbh this is for 95% of bus routes from small tendered routes to high frequency commercial routes) is either a rubbish service or no service. At least this rubbish service ticks the boxes along the 'supply' chain - The developers can claim they are funding an half hourly service, Metro can get the good PR off saying they 'saved the route' by finding an operator & the operator can get some extra income whilst pointing the finger at driver shortage for any missing trips. The bonus part is all 3 parties probably know passenger numbers are so low that they don't need to take complaints seriously The joys of public transport in England

I think the best idea is running at as an hourly extension of TLC Travels 205 service from Dewsbury to Pudsey. I can’t think of a worse idea to be honest. You do know the Pudsey part is just an off peak extension? The main route is a local service within the Horsforth area

Well, the 07:20 from Troy to Horsforth Vale operated today (after a fashion) - presumably because it's the school holidays and they don't have to operate a school contract. I was waiting at the stop at Troy (opposite Horsforth Station) and as there was no sign of the 30 at 07:25 I decided to walk back up Station Road to The Old Ball roundabout to catch the 27; as I started up Station Road the 30 came into view at The Old Ball roundabout so I made a dash for the Station Road stop . . . only for the driver to turn round at the roundabout instead of looping back via Station Road/Troy Road/Lister Hill - obviously there was nobody on board for the last stops, and the as the driver probably reckoned that there wouldn't be anybody waiting at Station Road or Troy (especially since the service doesn't appear to run in term times) he'd make life easier for himself by doubling back at The Old Ball roundabout.
I have one more trip to make into Leeds before Christmas . . .

They'll have some sort of contact form on their website to report non compliant operation of the route. * It appears the contractor isn't compliantly running the service.... I've kept up a thread of e-mails with WYCA, who have in turn contacted A&A - they've suggested I contact A&A myself, but I replied that I didn't there was much point as customer service didn't seem to feature high on their list of priorities. I have also suggested that to get a fuller picture of how this operator goes about its business they might like to visit this forum and take a look at this thread.

It may also be worth recording any telephone conversations exchanged, as these appear to be the most unprofessional thing of all.

You have to tell someone the call is being recorded - would imagine that would immediately result in the phone being put down.

This was the phone number I was given by metro
07872 922364
When rung it he said he was the boss. I explained about the non appearance of the bus service last Friday.
He said I should use a taxi if I had a problem and I shouldn’t ring him again and the phone went dead !
I contacted metro on Monday they said it was logged but they couldn’t do anything.
Very frustrating
