Nothing wrong with a 10 year old refurbished Volvo/Wright, this combination from this era both in single and double deck form are seen as very solid buses. The 502 hardly justifies brand new buses in any case.

Still 10 yr old, 3rd hand buses though. Nice new shiny paint cant hide that fact. Is anyone trying to hide that?

I don't think anybody knows if that route is getting branded for now. However, apparently the 1716/24/5 from Rosso are going to Team Pennine, so they'll most likely be the buses used on the route. Much better choice than an E200/E200 MMC

There has been in news articles and alex hornby even mentioned there will be buses for the 587. However I think they might just be a brand like the 464 so it will have no branding name so that the vinyls can easily be replaced just in case of loosing the tender or they might just use regular team pennine eclipses but specially allocate it to the 20/587 rotation.

Alex has said the 587 will be getting newer buses but no indication as when. Before it was announced the Team Pennine had even regained full control of 587 the revamp for 502 was announced by Alex w8th eclipses featured and the brand name Great Northern Line.

While it is good that route 502 is getting smart refurbished buses, it's a pity the route is not being reallocated to Keighley and joining the Keighley Bus Company.

No, but Transdev do have a habit of putting private plates on buses don't they?.It wouldn't surprise me if these Eclipse's were re-registered down the line, like Denby Dart E200's or Holmfirt Explorer Tempo's. 10 yr old buses, not brand new. What's so exciting about that.

Customers don't care how old the bus is, they don't look at registration plates. What they notice is how well presented it is, how comfortable & how well equipped the buses are. A well cared for 10-year old bus will come across better than an uncared for new bus. If these have had some internal TLC to match the new shiny paint job then to the customers they will come across in the manner intended.

The 502 wouldn't change at all if it was shifted over to Keighley Bus Company. That will also be unecessary and expensive. Also the 502 shifting over to KBC is very unlikely because 502 is the only solid route that links Team Pennine to the rest of the Transdev network as 587 is a contracted route so it can shift operator at anytime.

Only as far as Denholme, the 502 between Keighley and Denholme is commercial. So actually Team Pennine could run a whole commercial version in competition with a Halifax to Denholme service if they wanted to.

Compare the 05 Reg Gemini B7TL's at Keighley with similar age buses at First and there's a huge difference in standards.

How come TJ Walsh didn't run the contract all the way to Keighley then?

The 502 is tendered throughout. How come TJ Walsh didn't run the contract all the way to Keighley then? Because at that point it was only tendered between Halifax and Denholme. I believe it was an aspiration for a while to change the service to run to Keighley but then COVID happened and TJ Walsh closed which complicated matters.

The 502 is tendered throughout. How come TJ Walsh didn't run the contract all the way to Keighley then? Because when TJ Walsh first took on the 504 there was a half hourly Denholme > Keighley service from Bradford for it to connect to.

Has Team Pennine Optare Solo 172 been refurbish as bustimes.org says it is in Team Pennine livery and everytime I try to change it back to Yorkshire Tiger people keep rejecting it? If it has been refurbished please can someone send me a photo as there is nothing on flickr.
