Heckmondwike based 1106 has now been withdrawn and joins 1104, as and when any major fault occurs will see the permanent withdrawal of any 1100. - looks like they are all on borrowed time

Not sure where to put this but I haven't seen it reported yet. Seen in Wakefield on Tuesday was CX06....didn't get the rest. A Wright commander (?) Volvo possibly ex Arriva Wales.

As I'm reading this it's gone past on the last 200 to Leeds again, the cooing fan is on and it's suspension keeps making lots of noise, counted same suspension noise 5 times when it passed yesterday

Or it could be the 14 years of constantly driving the potholes of West Yorkshire. How much blame can you apportion to the manufacturer for noises? A bus is going to have vibrations due to the lovely roads we have here. The more bumps, pot holes etc, the more screws and joints will move and loosen, creating rattles and noises. Parts being taken on/off will cause rattles etc. A lot more external factors than solely blaming a manufacturer.

If 1100 was dangerous or wouldn't be right, then surely it would be off the road wouldn't it? If it was faulty it would be off the road, engineers wouldn't have allowed it to be sent out wouldn't it?
I don't think you can blame Wright for rattles can you? Bus has been on our roads for 14 years, potholes, ect.
Why do I sometimes get the impression, Bus Enthusiasts, think they know more than inspectors/engineers/drivers, not targeting anyone in particular, seems to be in general. If 1100 was faulty, it wouldn't be on the road, there can't be anything that wrong with it, if its on the road? Engineers wouldnt send faulty buses out.

It's a 15 year old vehicle, that's spent most of its life on 254/255 going up and down Whitehall Road between Cleckheaton and Leeds plus other routes, which are full of pot holes. At the moment, in the Arriva group, not just Yorkshire, only the very high profile routes are getting the new vehicles. Not including the 110 vehicles, the last new one's for any Yorkshire depot other than Wakefield, were the 17 plate MMC 400's for Heckmondwike and Castleford. When Wakefield 'get' their new electrics sometime in 2024 or 25, current newer vehicles will probably move within Yorkshire to replace older vehicles.

Can't believe though the Eclipses and the E400s are 15 year old, I remember them getting them brand new, how time flies. Arriva Yorkshire got a lot of buses between 2006 and 2013, think they had a new batch every year.
I imagine, the hybrids and geminis will replace all of the e400s, maybe some of the electric deckers, replacing the singles as well? Although I had a look on DVLA, the MOT and tax runs out for the commanders in September/October time this year, whether they will get their tax and MOT done is another story. But safe to say any major failures now with any older vehicles will mean, withdrawl and scrap, as it won't be worth the cost to repair them

And those buses lasted a good 15 years.

Was like sitting on those class 142s pacers with the flipdot displays, as they had the same type of seating.

I remember a journey where I sat on a Lance all the way down Dewsbury Road from Beeston. My backside came out numb by the time I reached Boar Lane

Could be permanent as probably the PVR went up when the 165 came into play. And doesn't help when 3 or 4 buses are at Selby on loan either.

I think maybe short-term loan for 1520 to come to Castleford, just seems a bit odd sending one bus there but I will accept I could be wrong as it has happened. As by looking on bustimes.org (just a suggestion), theres only one Evolution out currently so perhaps some issues there? And another issue could be 1545 as that has not ran since 3rd July. It seems that 1413 and 1403 are on loan there at the momment (unless theres more). Overall, I know it has been mentioned before but Selby do really seem to struggle with buses but I get Castleford does maintaince there and MOT but I just feel like its a regular occurrence and it must put a strain on bus availability for Castleford which must be why 1520 has came over. My guess is once the buses in Selby has been sorted, the other buses get sent back to Castleford and 1520 will come back or whatever they give to Castleford for the day
