Internal or external or both?, The HD Connect livery it's in has only been on for a couple of years max has it not?

Internal I believe, around 3 years the HD connect has been around. Interested to see the spec First will have specified, and if we will see these allocated along the routes they compete with Transdev.

First realised that they wanted to get rid of HD Connect as the buses they use on it isn't even that good and they want to vary the fleet a bit like the Halifax and Bradford depots which have more low emission vehicles such as Enviro 400s, Streetdecks, Streetlites and more B9TLs than Huddersfield has. Huddersfield generally gets the hand me downs from Leeds, the 324xx are a disgrace internally threadbare seats and foisty smells the normal. The Bradford clean air zone might see some vehicle movement for the X63. Although with the feedback on the Enviro400 and Street decks I'd rather take a B7TL or B9TL up Holmfirth than crawl up with one of them.

B9TLs are still part of low emissions right? Only the B7s are not applicable for a cleaner air zone. They qualify for low emissions, but need guidewheels fitting and ideally livery update of they're using them on X63.

B9s are going to be the oldest vehicles in the fleet they definately won't put guide wheels on the Huddersfield ones, they'll probably use the current ones at Bradford. The most likely vehicle will be a Streetdeck and then the B9TLs probably are going to join the Huddersfield fleet for X63 and then the Bradford side might use Streetdecks. A: The B9TLS are not the oldest vehicles in the fleet. B: Streetdecks down a guideway would result in some nicely scraped lower body panels and shredded tyres. (Unless there were plans to get rid of the guideway altogether)

(Unless there were plans to get rid of the guideway altogether) Doesn't Vantage in Manchester use some for the guided bus way? Also I never said B9TLS are the oldest vehicles, I said they are the oldest low emission vehicles. First Manchester use guided Wright Gemini 3 bodied - Volvo B5LHs for the Vantage routes. These are the same chassis as the guided hybrids at Hunlset Park, just a different body. First Leeds were testing guidewheels on Streetdecks a few months ago, but nothing appears to have come of it. This would possibly explain why the 56/ 19/A and 40 haven't seen new buses yet.

The plan is to remove the guided busway along the A64 and replace the busway with normal bus lanes - see link www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/a64 so the new buses won't need guide wheels.

I work at Hudds depot in engineering, so known the bus is away. The only planned improvements to Hudds will be the 695XX refurbishment and cascades, along with the repaint programme.

So far, First might actually be planning something. First always gets rid of the brandings before refurbishing. If you look at the third post down, at what point did wibble state the HD Connect branding was being removed?. He works in the depot, so will clearly know more than me and you about matters like this. unless of course you work for First Huddersfield and know better.

Are the 695xx's being cascaded away from Huddersfield or just onto other routes? I'm a bit surprised there's no planned investment in Huddersfield considering First now have TeamPennine to compete with who are bringing more modern buses and branding. The youngest buses First have on the other hand are 47491-47500, approaching 7 years old.

Hopefully they go on routes 181/183/185/186 and then First Greater Manchester can put their Enviro 400s on the 184 to make the Manchester Road Corridor an Enviro 400 corridor.

Cough cough splutter.... they can get them sorted out first before putting them on those routes, I don't fancy catching a 183 only to find I'm pushing the dam thing up to Linthwaite, or worse still heading back down to Manchester Road the wrong way lol
