There's no real call for the 271 expansion as the reason why the 213 stopped and the 221 expansion didnt last long was there's no real footfall. It's much quicker going from Batley to Cleck going via DDH and getting 268 through.

And as been mentioned, this 'new' Cleck-Batley service, probably won't be well used, since 226 (Leeds-Halifax), was withdrawn after 213 got withdrawn, Arriva, extended 221 onto Cleck via 268 route, after complaints, and nobody used it.

I also wonder how many people are using the 228 express to Brighouse? Sorry I meant to put 261.

I'd put 271 as i was focusing on that service. I've still got to see a full 271 on its current workings yet let alone 251 & 261.

Is that not basically how all these situations pan out? A few very loud people complain, MPs get involved, so they provide a subsidised service. In reality the complainants are half a dozen people who use the bus once a week.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. I don't want to lose the bus service because I may need it one day. It's like signing a petition. People will sign as long as it's not detrimental to them.

Er which post does this refer to? This is the only post in this thread LOL It's about the new off peak, 'new' 261 & 271, that Arriva are bringing out in May, to give a Mirfield-Cleckheaton service, thereby sort of giving what the people wanted, when it gets to Cleck, will change to a 271, to Batley, again what the people want. Except, nobody will use them, just like I've seen nobody on the 228 between Hartshead Moor Top to Brighouse during its operating times, especially Monday to Friday.

Keighley Bus Company announcing some timetable changes.
62 will be retimed Monday-Saturday to leave Keighley 5 minutes earlier to allow for traffic congestion in Silsden and Ilkley.
67, 68 and 69 have a tagline of 'Extra buses during rush hour', which sounds good, until you read the actual info and see that the 'extra' 67's are just 68's rerouted and that at off peak times the service is cut to hourly! The 69 is withdrawn.
662 will have changes to weekday daytime journeys.
948 is retimed to provide better connections with trains at Apperley Bridge station.

Re: 67,67,68 Oh dear, there isn't a bus service as such in the evening (last trip out at 9 pm isn't any good) and despite lots of new houses in Denholme.... only hourly during the day

Does this cut strengthen the case for the bus from Halifax to be extended to Keighley to plug the gap? Also what will the connection be like from the 504 to the new 67?

Strengthen the case for who though? Nobody wants to run it commercially, and Metro wouldn’t subsidise the service when there is an hourly commercial bus alongside.

Not sure whether the 504 is already commercial to Denholme - I know it was re-registered by TJW after Metro awarded the tender to Tiger at some stage. If so maybe it could now be extended to Keighley to replace that part of the withdrawn 68. The 69 is withdrawn as well so will people be annoyed at the loss of the Bradford to Oxenhope through peak bus?

At certain times of day the connections are dreadful. When the 504 was initially introduced buses would wait for missed connections but that does not now happen (I've seen a 504 pull out as the connecting bus from Keighley pulled in at Denholme). I am surprised at the cuts just as Denholme is expanding so much (with posh new bus shelters too). The buses used are also generally some of the oldest in the fleet. Surprisingly for a route which seems to be struggling for numbers they're often double deckers.

Following changes in Bradford earlier, it looks like it’s Huddersfield’s turn to make cuts with PVR numbers shaved off the 306, 307, 328, 371, 372
