FWY single decker wright involved in what looked like a pretty serious RTC at rush hour on 13/03. Happened on the Headrow about 4pm. Looking at the aftermath I could only imagine that the bus mounted the kerb as its completely wiped out the black advertising unit outside the Home Sense shop. Walking past after, the bus didnt look in a good way. probably gonna be have a one way trip to the scrappers.
Has anyone got any idea which one it was - for some reason when i walked past I didn't think to ID it.......

It was 66772.
Looks like a handbrake issue for me, but not got any info other than pics.
Damage doesn't look too bad, new screens, new front panel but would depend on if there was any structural damage to the roof.

I know what happened, but obviously not going to post it on here. No mechanical issue with the bus though, driven it plenty of times. All that needs replacing is the windscreen, dome, destination glass & light cluster/bumper which are readily available.
The bus will be back in service pretty soon, would have to be far worse than that such as cracked/bent chassis to look at withdrawing it for scrap.
Just fortunate nobody was injured.

Something tells me due care and attention had something to do with it if it wasnt a mechanical fault....

cwtransportphotos. At the risk of being on the receiving end of some stick/abuse there are any number of reasons why this RTC happened. Unless you were on scene in an official capacity and know what happened then I suggest you leave it to those who where dealing rather than "jump" to conclusions. Police will investigate the RTC(if appropriate) and present their finding to the Crown Prosecution Service. The CPS will decide if there is enough evidence to justify a prosecution and finally a magistrate will decide if the is a case to be answered and will deal accordingly. Finally(and correctly) the offence is "driving without due care and attention"

Something tells me due care and attention had something to do with it if it wasnt a mechanical fault.... Now that's jumping to conclusions. First Leeds issued a statement on the regional twitter feed saying they had launched an immediate investigation in to what happened and even said the vehicle had no passengers on board and no peadestrians were involved. There's also been a driver on here who has also reitarated this and has even said they can't say what exactly has happened or why it happened which is why First are carrying out the investigation as they will have to make a report for the HSE team. It would be wise to wait until FWY issue a full statement if they feel it is needed.
