Got 2½ hours to kill in Birmingham tomorrow and rather want a ride on a NXWM service but don't want to get stuck and miss my train back. I need a high frequency route serving Moor Street Station. Not bothered where it's going provided it is a good 30-40 minutes ride.

Not bothered where it's going provided it is a good 30-40 minutes ride. The obvious one is the 50 which is, I'm pretty sure, the most frequent service in the West Midlands and runs from Moor Street Queensway. Turn left at the station exit and cross the road and it runs from the first stop to your left outside the side of Selfridges. NXWM appear to run about every 4-mins using E400MMCs and if you want variety then Diamond run every 10-mins as far as the Maypole roundabout in competition and Maypole is about a 35-mins journey (at least off-peak Saturday when I last rode it). There are a lot of buses running from stops within a short walk of Moor Street Station but that is the most frequent and seems to fit your spare time quite well.
