I fail to see why the 253 has been axed, it always seems pretty well loaded every time I see it, even the last late service is always pretty full. This time last year ravensthorpe ( after north road ) had 203,253,262 and 278, from next week it will have the 203 only!

I can see the 251/61/71 lasting a year or so and they will be axed due to poor usage. I hope I'm wrong.

Who running 263 not sure as it's not listed on Metro or Generation M. I've also looked on the websites for A.Lyles and Station Coaches and neither of them have it listed. It could be Arriva still though. I have noticed the Dewsbury-Bradford route looks to follow the 202 route to Kitson HIll Road

You’d have thought they would have combined the 251 & 271 together by running on Bradford Road Birstall- Batley to give passengers their missing Batley service with not having the 229. No one ever caught the 222 between Birstall- Hecky, it ran near empty in both directions on that section of route, yet this gets replaced and the 209 passengers are left with nothing! It’s nuts! I can see the 251/61/71 lasting a year or so and they will be axed due to poor usage. I hope I'm wrong. I'll give the 'new' 251 less than a year, before it gets withdrawn. Who running 263 I've just been text by an Arriva mate, that the 263, will be operated by TLC. Metro have asked TLC to run one journey each way on school days, after complaints from the public about the withdrawal of the 253, this, then gets the ML2 bus into position.

Has either Arriva or Metro published new timetables for all the changes, as can’t find any for 212/213/229/268?

Has either Arriva or Metro published new timetables for all the changes, as can’t find any for 212/213/229/268? If you access the individual timetable page for each route on the wymetro website there is a tab you can select for the upcoming timetable.

Paper ones have been available for at least a week as well, I haven’t seen the 212/213 one, but the others were available in Bradford and/or Huddersfield as appropriate and are presumably available in Dewsbury

I managed to grab the link to the changes eventually. According to staff in Dewsbury Bus Station people have been grabbing the timetables whilst they had them and even today at the “launch” in Heckmondwike they ran out of some. Metro’s timetable for the 212 says there is no change to the 212A, but there is, as Hayburn Road, Arncliffe Road and Cemetery Road are no longer served. Artiva’s on-line timetables are very poor, offering few intermediate points and no route details (unlike Metro’s). I noticed at the “launch” there were plenty of people complaining about being inconvenienced and Arriva staff offering apologies.

I’m assuming that the single deckers may mainly operate boards that run the “short” 229s, i.e. those which operate only as far as Heckmondwike.
Yesterday a “new 229” formed part of my journey from Manchester to Leeds (180 to Greenfield, walk up through Uppermill, 184 to Hudds then 229). It made me smile when it turned up on the stand with “Leeds Fast” on the destination. Not sure if it’s now faster than 202/3 and certainly not “CityZap” fast! Did feel much quicker between Heckmondwike and LCC though which is I suppose what they were trying to do, like the 219 from 20 years or so ago.
Saw one of the 229 branded Eclipses in Hecky running a 268! Noticed a 228 run by a Lowlander and 261 Eclipse.

It'll be interesting to learn loadings.
I reckon the 228 Brig to Cleck and the 251 will be running almost empty all day. I note the 251 runs only a few mins after the new 200. Can't help wondering whether they could have used that bus to resource a 209 style replacement.
I reckon the 271 would be well used and the new 229 will be half full.

Metro’s timetable for the 212 says there is no change to the 212A, but there is, as Hayburn Road, Arncliffe Road and Cemetery Road are no longer served.
I now know the above information about the 212A, given to me on Saturday, to be incorrect as it still operates. Arriva had to draw in two young ladies from Arriva NE to help out in Heckmondwike, offering information as best they could, but not knowing the area it was difficult to be accurate and mistakes were bound to happen.
It’s a pity there was no Arriva representative in Heckmondwike today (probably same in Batley and Cleckheaton too) to advise people who did not know about the changes. The drivers do what they can, but they generally only know their immediate duty.
Some pupils at Heckmondwike Grammar School were late this morning, waiting for their 229 to turn up; it would never do so for those living on Bradford Road. They now believe it does not run at all.
Metro had someone sticking new signs on the bus shelters in Heckmondwike Hub today (a couple of days late!), but Nexus deal with the next bus details
Come on Arriva get your act together and improve your “improvements “!
