Noone at Metro or First going to bother addressing the massive error with Firsts X27 service? What error?

The fact that it has a non existant route between Crossgates and Thorpe Park! The displays, even the metro map show or going over Manston Lane Link Road and down Austhorpe Road. The link Road won't be ready until May!

Does anyone know about the stagecoach changes to the 28 and where are these changes published www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/yorkshire/service-28-consultationService 28 runs between Barnsley and Pontefract via Shafton, XPO Logistics, Grimethorpe, Hemsworth, Kinsley, Fitzwilliam, Ackworth and Purston Jaglin hourly during the daytime. An hourly evening and Sunday service is provided by service 28c. The route of this is not proposed to change. The daytime service is suffering from delays, many due to traffic congestion, which is causing a drop in punctuality. We are keen to improve this and so are suggesting changes to make the service more reliable for our customers. We propose to reroute the service between Ackworth (Brown Cow) and Pontefract to run directly via the A628 and A639 rather than the existing route via Purston Jaglin. This route is shorter and more direct. It would therefore be slightly quicker. We would still maintain the link to Pontefract Hospital. Is it me or does that seem to suggest that the Ackworth - Purston - Pontefract section (28 Barnsley to Pontefract) is being replaced by some other service

Not seen any First changes reported but I'm told that now Clarendon Way has finally reopened that First Leeds route 5 will revert to it's previous route from 27 January.

They are apparently withdrawing the 209 too. They could have at least kept it peak time only. If this is true. That’s a big chunk of Leeds services lost. Gutted about the X29 They didn’t give it very long, but I guess with the J27 roadworks couldn’t have helped it. I thought they may have hung onto it tho, what with that huge warehouse development being built on the A62 at Gildersome that it goes past. I wonder what will replace it? Increase the 209 maybe? With the 213 and 281 route changes i'm giving a good guess that the 213 is getting re-routed on the Manor Way circuit at Staincliffe and the 281 will no longer be serving Jct 27.

Confirmation of the withdrawal of service 209, while there's a new night bus service.

Note this now says limited stop service type. Perhaps the 229 will take a more direct route to Leeds, unless it only refers to N9.

Re the Arriva North Kirklees Changes, this is what a Heckmondwike depot mate has told me about some of the changes:
220/221/222/223 - Getting Renumbered, the renumbered 220 will no longer go through to Huddersfield from Cleckheaton, the renumbered 221 rerouted between Batley & Heckmondwike via Healey and The Junction Pub in place of 229, it will also no longer go through to Mirfield, 222 & 223 details unknown at present.
229 rerouted between Heckmondwike & Birstall via Swan & Directly along the A62 through 6 Lane Ends to Birstall, NO longer serving Batley, saving 17 mins on the journey, Passengers have apparently asked for quicker journeys to Leeds, this is what they're getting, also going to a 15 min service. No idea at the moment if First's Sunday Evening journeys 229 will go the new route.
268 going to 15 min service, like current Saturdays timetable, service will still run Bradford-Cleckheaton-Heckmondwike-Dewsbury-Wakefield and ALL journeys will be numbered 268, the 268A getting dropped.
This new 228 Huddersfield-Brighouse, that someone posted earlier above, my mate has told me, that this service will operate via the current 220 between Huddersfield & Cleckheaton, it will then either go via the 225 (Pack Horse/Hartshead/Clifton) or 256 (Scholes/Pack Horse/Hartshead/Clifton) route to Brighouse.

I’ve always thought the 229 should be more direct. It never made sense to me that the infrequent 209 was the direct bus, and the 229 took ages going via Batley.

The link Road won't be ready until May! The X27/X26 is confusing for the passengers as it is, should have just run it as a X26 until the road opened. Even with the X27 going to Garforth, that should still be a X26 for the time being. It doesn’t help that on a night, the service is meant to do a loop, but can’t at the moment. And there’s also one trip on the X26 a week that goes to Garforth! I love driving the route, but it is complicated at the moment, hopefully once the road is opened, and the passengers get used to it, it’ll settle down.

Yes I did wonder if the 228 would be a merger of 220 and part of 256. A faster 229 is a good thing but does beg the question of what will fill the gaps by changing it's route. Also, although not direct, in a morning it can be quicker to go along Leeds Old Road and Smithies Moor Lane than queue into Birstall down A62. It would also serve more houses. Pie in sky thinking... but one that I think will benefit more people is to scrap 262 extension from mirfield to brighouse and tag this onto 221 (or whatever bus terminates in mirfield).

Maybe my mate, has got it slightly wrong and it's going the way you suggest. We'll know for certain when Metro publish the February changes.

PB0000582/86 Registered ARRIVA YORKSHIRE LTD Route: Huddersfield to Leeds Service number: 229 (229, N9) Service type: Limited Stop Effective date: 23 Feb 2019 Amend 229 route and timetable, withdraw 209, new N9 service Note this now says limited stop service type. Perhaps the 229 will take a more direct route to Leeds, unless it only refers to N9. I've been told by my mate, the N9, will be the current Friday and Saturday night 229 journeys, with an extension from Heckmondwike to Cleckheaton
