A full 48 days before Christmas and Transdev have been posting details of their Christmas & New Year services across Yorkshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Should be a similar case for most operators over the festive period: Saturday services on Christmas Eve, 27/28 December and New Years Eve and no services on Christmas Day and New Years Day (with some exceptions). Transdev will be running Boxing Day services, running half hourly on services 36, 60 and 662 and hourly on services 66 (Keighley-Airedale Hospital), CityZap, K3, K7 and K9. keighleybus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2492harrogatebus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2499yorkbus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2500

I do wonder every year why the 62 runs so much later than most Keighley buses, especially as the last bus is one of the few that don't return in service.
The last buses out along Skipton Road are 1910 (66), 1911 (M4), 1925 (62), 2025 (62).
Also why Keighley bus never put the times for the M4 on their site because it's a different company that runs it...

The Harrogate news release is amusing.
They're running buses on Boxing Day on "a whole range of routes" then lists both of them. I suspect last year's press release has been edited, but some routes removed or simply another area's list edited.

No, I believe Harrogate always only run the 1 and 36 on Boxing Day When you say "always", you mean "starting in 2017". Prior to that, there hadn't been any Boxing Day buses in Harrogate for a long time. Interesting that CityZap is going to run via Designer Outlet this year - I assume First York will be running the 3, 7 and 9 as they have done for the last few years, but this will give a direct service from Leeds as well, which could attract the shoppers. (Lord alone knows why ... I can think of few things I would want to do less on Boxing Day than go shopping ... but clearly not everyone feels the same!)

Prior to that, there hadn't been any Boxing Day buses in Harrogate for a long time. It was actually 2015 when they reintroduced Boxing Day buses, initially only on the 36 to Leeds, but then adding the 1, and also including Ripon in 2016. So, this will be the fourth year they have run something.

Is it me or does Christmas appear to be arriving earlier each year. Although I'm not keen on the decorations and carols getting earlier, I appreciate good notice of what public transport will be running.

The Christmas Day free bus service will run between 10:00 and 16:00 in Keighley, using the same timetable as previous years. It will be run by fully-qualified volunteers from the Town & District Transport Trust.

So will the ZAP go down Tadcaster Road in York first before going to the Designer Outlet?

Arriva have got notices on the buses saying it will will be saturday services apart from Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve when the X88 will run to a special timetable meaning there'll be no N10 or late buses running again for the period like last year

So will the ZAP go down Tadcaster Road in York first before going to the Designer Outlet? If the graphic on the web site is correct they will be running Leeds-Designer Outlet-York-Leeds www.yorkbus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2537

If the graphic on the web site is correct they will be running Leeds-Designer Outlet-York-Leeds www.yorkbus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2537Only attracting Leeds based custom to the designer outlet. Assume First will be operating a P&R there so no need to compete with them on York-designer outlet route

Boxing Day services appear to be the same as last year in West Yorkshire. There'll be one journey each way running on the X88 on New Year's Day, running at 1400 from Wakefield, Union Street and at midnight from TKMaxx.

Full details on Metro's website now. As in previous years, special free services will operate in Keighley on Christmas Day, along with the X51 between Morley and St James Hospital via Leeds. Differences in Boxing Day services from last year are: no service (7 - formerly 71) between Harrogate and Wetherby, service 33A is now service 34, service 233 replaces the 81/82 service between Huddersfield, Clayton West and Denby Dale running every hour, CityZap replaces the 843 between Leeds and York, running a one-way loop via York Designer Outlet, Clifford Street and the railway station. New Years Day sees a new free service by Black Prince Buses, running a service 87 between Morley railway station and White Rose Centre via Morley Centre. The service should connect with Northern and TPE train services at Morley, with buses waiting upto 5 minutes if the train is late. wymetro.com/media/4231/2090-christmas-and-ny-summary-web-a4.pdfwymetro.com/media/4229/christmas-day-timetable-2018.pdfwymetro.com/media/4228/boxing-day-timetable-2018.pdfwymetro.com/media/4230/new-year-day-timetable-2019.pdf
