I live in London and have a brand new shiny Pink MCard. What I want to do with it is to buy three Countywide DaySaver bus passes for the last three days of October. Obvious thing to do it to buy them as I arrive in Leeds BUT I am arriving in Leeds at 05:50 (Monday 29th October) long before the Metro Travel Centre opens. I am aware that I can top up at "any" Payzone outlet but are there any open so early in the morning? Next question
Countywide Bus only
DaySaver tickets: £5.50 (multiples of 3,5 or 10 = £5 each)
I am buying three DaySaver tickets in one transaction. Does a Payzone apply the discount?
Final question Does "Countywide" actually mean what it says - in the sense of taking myself off to, for example, York, or Doncaster etc.
Metro themselves are not very helpful in answering specific questions

There are self-service MCard machines in Leeds bus station, you can use a payzone wherever they’re open at that time. Yes, they’ll apply the multi-ticket discount so if you buy 3, it’ll be £5 each. MCards are only for use within West Yorkshire, so you can only take it to Leeds, Huddersfield, castleford etc

You can also download the app and top up your card through it.

Download the mcard app to your phone, buy tickets through the app and (providing you have a phone with NFC capability, the app will put the tickets on the card by holding the card against the back of the phone.

Note that if you do go down the PayZone route, I've used a dozen or so over the years (before the NFC capability came through and for bus/train options). So far none of them have had the correct opening times on the PayZone website and some have been unable or unwilling to sell MCard products. Metro have not been much use despite numerous complaints.

General answer. Single Day Saver tickets can be bought on the bus, but obviously that's a greater cost. The app is probably the easiest way to buy. Note you don't specify when you want to use them, nearly all buses have a reader that clicks off the next day ticket. Bus station- there's a machine at many bus stations to buy the top-ups. Note the ones at railway stations do not sell bus-only products.
