YT 719 broke down, this afternoon, inbound at the traffic lights at Westgate & Railway Street, Huddersfield, for around 45-60 mins, blocking both lanes to other traffic. All vehicles had to go the wrong side of the lights to get past.

How First are treating Huddersfield at the moment it’ll probably be to replace some of the 13 plate B7RLEs so Leeds can have some newer vehicles again.

I think they will replace B7L's as they are now 16 years old, they're showing their age a lot.
Possibly some 2008/9 reg B7RLE's could go too.

A possible idea could be that they have been sent to replace Streetlites, that could go to Leeds and be ‘eminox’ed to become Euro 6, would be a sensible idea.
Obviously this is an idea and not a fact before the rumours go flying around

More old tat for Huddersfield, the fleet is an embarrassment, old tatty 54 reg deckers and W reg ALX 400’s everywhere , yet Leeds get everything, a bit like Arriva, all they are interested in is Wakefield & castleford depots!

Well that's a silly comment in regards to Arriva
Heckmondwike and Dewsbury with all the new MAX double decker, Heckmondwike who were large recipients of the Geminis, Dewsbury with modern single decks.,,

The old "tatty" 54 reg deckers you refer to are the B7TL Gemini's which are currently being repainted, and the finished ones look very smart. The "Express" liveried variants for the X63 look just as tidy as Bradford's newer 08 reg B9TL examples. Huddersfield, Halifax and Bradford will never have the newer influx of vehicles that Leeds do, simply because these operating areas cannot match Leeds profitability. Also Leeds needs to have new or newer buses due to government legislation regarding emission control in the bigger cities. If i was a regular bus user, I'd be more concerned that i had a regular dependable service than what vehicle delivered it. In Greater Manchester where First have significantly cut back, i'd bet most passengers affected would choose a "tatty" W reg ALX400 than no bus at all, which is what appears to be happening.

A tatty bus may well be better than no bus at all, but to suggest that buses which have been slogging relentlessly from Huddersfield to Bradford and back for over 13 years are still acceptable stock for a trunk route between two major destinations, whether tarted up or not, is an insult to those destinations and that route. The same applies to route 503. The old municipals always used to show off their new buses on these services. Now admittedly someone has to have the newest buses and somewhere has to have the oldest but the situation where Halifax and Huddersfield aren't even considered suitable for Leeds' five-year-old cast-offs but have to put buses 12 years and older on major trunk services is a disgrace. And if trunk services between Huddersfield, Halifax and Bradford are not profit-making, what hope is there for 90% of the bus network in West Yorkshire?
