60 odd being built at Wright bus for Leeds & some for Sheffield. New Hybrid Streetlites also. Photos on Flickr. This is encouraging. By the time I next come to Leeds, probably August, I may well have more choice than routes 1 & 6.

Looks like First have started launching the new brand and new buses
I question doing it on the First WY account though, they really need to create separate accounts for each operation, as it will just annoy people in Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield

Hard enough for them to manage 1 account from Manchester, let alone an additional 3.

Thank you for the Tweet indicating that the regular routes for the StreetDecks will be routes 1, 6, 28 & 97. Route 97 could be the most interesting being the longest.

I came to Leeds yesterday and rode 35291. It had been a trick of the light from photos seen that led me to think they had beige seats. They are the usual First light grey but to a different shape compared to earlier StreetDecks.
I saw one of the P&R StreetDecks but do not know when the next ones for normal services are due.

More are being built as we speak for the 3/12/13 corridor routes. These ones are glazed at the top, normal Diesel and have different features.

With these different features, I reckon on riding one next time, probably next August. It will be the 30th Anniversary of my first Leeds & Bradford trip and the 20th Anniversary of my second such trip! With more going to HP, at this rate, I wonder how many of the 12-reg Volvo B9TLs will even be staying in West Yorkshire?

Though Bramley is now gonna be the one with older fleet in Leeds.

The current fleet of “super new buses” are less than sparkling the smaller windows fail to let virtually any air flow in and have been like mobile greenhouses recently, when the doors open you’re often meet with a wall of heat. The on board announcements appear to be failing on loads of vehicles some working on one deck only or not at all.
On the 28 they work towards Adel but not from it as far as Otley Road then suddenly burst back into life.

I always said the 12 plate Gemini 2's would be perfect for the 56 and 19/19A at improving the quality of service. But it seems not the case.

On the way back to Leeds, it kicked back on the approach to the bus station

Now that it seems unlikely that the next StreetDecks will be in service by the August Bank Holiday, I have not missed out by advancing my Leeds daytrip from the August Bank Holiday to June.

Photo on flickr of a new Streetdeck with a navy blue front (for 2, 3, 12, 13s). The red version of the livery looks stunning compared to this dull joke of a paint scheme. God I wish someone at First had half a brain to come up with something more interesting.

Hi,as a senior member of our WY commercial team and having more than as quoted "half a brain", I'm sorry you are not a fan of the blue wedge for the Dewsbury Road services. These 250 plus buses for Leeds which are starting to arrive in great numbers will have corridor colours, the next being blue for Dewsbury Rd, Yellow for the first batch of York Road services for Thorpe Park, and a number to backfill Headingley Lane in red. Each corridor will have its own colour when rolled out further which will form part of a wider branding/marketing plan. I'm sure our customers will welcome these new buses and the features they bring, both on board with next stop announcements, USB, wifi, and Euro 6 engines helping reduce pollution. Stuart Fillingham

Thanks for taking time to let us know. At one point it wasn’t known if there were to be different colour wedges and whether it was something that had been guessed and become fact, especially when the green ones were subsequently repainted red.

Stuart Fillingham Also, thanks for cutting my local 670 route down so it only goes to Greengates. A few trips have been cut, including the first and last journey of the day. Changed the times so that there is no longer a 15 minute coordinated frequency with the 760. No doubt we will end up with scruffy B7tls that may or may not show up like every other Bramley route.

Hi, These alterations follow a review of the network. In some cases we have looked carefully at a number of routes/journeys with low passenger use and although this only affects a very small number of journeys, we have had to balance the level of service with customer demand. In the case of the 670, the changes are largely driven by the inconsistent reliability across the route despite regular timetable interventions in recent years. Although we recognise that this means a change for some customers in direct connectivity, and coordination, we are confident that the 35 service will be significantly more reliable than it's predecessor with a more robust timetable. I can assure you that we remain committed to delivering the best service possible for customers and working with all parties to support growing patronage. The service is booked for double deck operation. I hope this in some way answers some of the questions, and as a valued customer, am happy to meet up and proactively discuss any issues/concerns. Stuart

Do we know when the next Streetdecks will start to arrive? I too feel that the navy blue wedge isn`t as successful as the red or the yellow. A lighter blue would work better. I assume there will be text applied on this branding eventually to inform the public what the colours stand for?

Stuart Ok thanks. I wasn't trying to have a go at you personally Stuart, just the company in general. Though the first journey into Leeds has always been busy but it has been cut, and the daytime journeys are timed 5 minutes AFTER the 760 leaves so we will have a 25 minute wait instead of the current 15 minute and surely even less peope will use the 670 and just jump on Transdev bus in front.
