Neither of those areas have had much investment over the recent years. Maybe not Bradford maybe it should be Halifax or Huddersfield. Instead send some B9s over to Leeds.

Totally agree, send these awful vibrating rattly things elsewhere in West Yorkshire and share the suffering around!

Well, you're entitled to your opinion but I much prefer Streetdecks to anything from ADL or Optare (Switch). I agree some of the earlier 16 plate examples can be hit & miss but generally I find them pleasant vehicles.

Are these not part of the partnership agreement between First,WYCA & LCC (Firsts part of the partnership was to deliver 284 new vehicles since 2018),so it's not as simple as 'give these to other area & send B9s to Leeds' Bradford have has new buses,Huddersfield are rumored to be gaining new Streetlites (unless thats changed) & both Hudds/Halifax have gained newer buses in recent years to help the age profile of their fleets. Arguably the B9s are more suited to the hillier routes operated in Kirklees & Calderdale than Streetdecks anyway.

If first could of got away with modifying the B9s to meet the partnership agreement don't you think they would of done that sooner & saved buying a few hundred Streetdecks? If the requirement was for new buses thats what First needed to provide.

Arriva's ones seem to cope well.

What are the chances of a few streetdecks could get tossed around once the electric vehicles arrive? I would say they'd get rid of the volvos but aren't they're needed for routes with guideways?

Nope they're a cascaded order that was due for Scotland but have been diverted to West Yorks following the announcement of the sale of the remaining Scottish division to Mcgills at the end of the month. Given there's nine inbound to HP i'd say it would cascade some more none guide-wheel B9s to Halifax.

Arriva's ones seem to cope well. Thats an option i guess, but it seems abit odd to buy new buses that would need modifying,as Streetdecks are designed mostly to be lightweight city buses it makes sense to use them on city routes (I Believe GNE have had problems after a few years using their Streetdecks on longer more rural/faster running routes) What are the chances of a few streetdecks could get tossed around once the electric vehicles arrive? I would say they'd get rid of the volvos but aren't they're needed for routes with guideways? I Think the Electrics due for Leeds are all SD,so i'd guess its most likely the Eclipses that will be getting moved on. York Road guideway is due to start being removed soon,so after thats completed i'm guessing we'll see the long awaited batch of Streetdecks for Route 56 (& possibly route 40) turn up also.

Probably same thing as on going B7TLs right now. How Leeds transferred they're newer B7TLs elsewhere to phase them out and left the B7TLs for guide wheeled use.

Arriva's ones seem to cope well. When they were on loan, it got placed on the 503, they actually seemed pretty quick! Managing to pass a B7 at the hill climb part of the route, I don't think they would need to be modified (too much) youtu.be/UmJyfib2iw4?t=367
