Regarding the 617/618, note the 616 and 680 have route changes, and the 615 has a timetable change too. This could mean a wider set of changes to routes in North West Bradford.

PB0000815/465 Registered FIRST WEST YORKSHIRE LTD Route: Leeds Bus Station to Skipton Bus Station via Otley Bus Station, Ilkley Bus Station Service number: X84 (X85) Service type: Limited Stop, Normal Stopping Effective date: 18 Feb 2018 Vary timetable. - Frequency increase of the X84/5 with the pool variation proving popular. Every 15 minutes with the X85 becoming every half hourly?
Is that from an inside source, or just speculation?

I'd say more speculation. After all First have neglected pool for far too long and i'm sure they have the data now to prove how popular the X85 is proving with the residents FINALLY having a direct link and none of this change at top of pool bank/otley bus station bull sh1t.

Is there a specific reason why service 56 has been rerouted?

Would be interested to know why extend the 616 (and new 619) to Eldwick all day and cut back the 622?
Is there more demand for journeys between Eldwick and Wildsen and Allerton than Shipley?

It looks like they wanted to keep Shipley Bingley every 20 and drop Eldwick to every 30. Or they may have seen a market for a 30 min Cottingley to Bingley - I should think there is one It will at least people in Eldwick and Gilstead will no longer be told in the timetable that there is no evening and Sunday service! A stupid situation that has been the case for about 20 years

Eldwick has always had a very good bus service for a small village, remember at one time they had buses to Huddersfield.
I expect they also want to deal with traffic congestion and extend journey times on the 622 with the same resources.

Is there a specific reason why service 56 has been rerouted? Should imagine it's mostly about the majority of Chestnut Avenue (and sometimes Queens Road) not being wide enough for buses to pass each other due to cars parked both sides.

Given the Journey time, the fact it goes here there and everywhere, i'm not surprised. Every time i see it it's empty or has pass holders on it. It's almost as if they picked a random route in north west leeds and went 'yeah we'll extend that one see what happens'.

Confirmation of some Arriva changes - www.arrivabus.co.uk/yorkshire/updates/service-278/Dewsbury will lose two longstanding services - the 278 as we already know, and also the 262. The 262 will run Huddersfield to Mirfield then pick up the 278 route to Brighouse. The X78 Tiger takes over the Brighouse to Halifax section but not via West Vale (some school journeys run as 78 via West Vale). Of course no evening/Sunday replacement on any part of the 278 route. These changes also reduce the number of Mon-Sat buses between Dewsbury and Mirfield centre from 6 to 4 per hour. Connections between the 262 and X78 at Brighouse are mentioned but it's made clear that a connection isn't guaranteed. I think these changes have come probably more from Metro than Arriva/Tiger as part of their streamlining/hub-and-spoke connections which they promised in order to reduce the bill on their tendered services (proponents of Metro taking over bus franchising - keep this in mind!)

With the withdrawal of the 513, will that mean no more buses from Mixenden to Illingworth and Ovenden? Last time the 513 was threatened, I seem to remember a big protest and a limited service was retained to let people access Morrison's supermarket. The new 24 will provide this link.

The 19A extension didn't last long did it? It was bizarre when it was introduced in the first place so it hardly seems a great loss. Of course the problem is once you introduce your new bus service, you then the face the "outrage" of the general public if you change your mind: www.wharfedaleobserver.co.uk/news/15821879.Outrage_at_axing_of_new_Aireborough_bus_service/?ref=mrb&lp=12It's a bit more surprising to see how short-lived the extra buses on the 9 were, but this round of changes sees a lot of core Leeds routes getting significantly increased running times which I'm sure is the reason the 9 and 19A are changing back.

The 278, 78, X78 changes make sense That new 262 routing is bizarre though, seems to be more about ensuring the main road between Cooper Bridge and Mirfield is served by any bus, regardless of how useful it is. You will also have buses heading to Huddersfield the wrong way.

I thought the 20 minute frequency on 503 on Sundays included the 501 every hour, so if reducing the frequency to 25 minutes, won't that make the 501 a 75 minute frequency?

The 501 doesn’t operate during Sunday daytime any more it got replaced by a 503 up until 4pm.

25 minute frequency? I suspect they might have been better dropping to 30 minutes as there will be different connections every hour and virtually no-one will actually remember when the buses are.
