Today sees the first day of a 9-day blockade of part of the Wharfedale Line.
Network Rail are carrying out repairs to the 150+ year old Springs Tunnel between Guiseley and Apperley Junction (where the Wharfedale Line meets the Airedale Line).
During the 9 days (Oct 21-29 inclusive), train services between Ilkley and Leeds will be diverted between Guiseley and Leeds in both directions, calling additionally at Baildon and Shipley, with journey times extended by up to 20 minutes.
Service between Ilkley and Bradford will only be able to run on Sundays due to capacity constraints on the single track line between Guiseley and Shipley. Passengers are to change at Shipley.
Replacement buses will supplement trains at certain times, mainly during morning and evening peaks.

Flooding/landslip this evening near Springs Tunnel has caused closure of the Leeds - Ilkley line.
