It'll also be Stagecoach's first appearance in at least 10 years at Meadowhell Apart from the tram. And Megabus.

Yes, the YT 241 is being renumbered 85 in line with the 80-84 series which are also going to be revamped. Guess the tenders have been renewed, but with some reductions along the way. Surprised the 300 TJW has been withdrawn - this has always seemed to be a profitable route.

Three from Transdev but no explanation of what the reason is. Presume the 70 (71) is typo for 770 and 771

Wouldn't be surprised if they are renumbering the 770, as Transdev do like a shorter lower number.

For example, the 762 was renumbered 62. As for cityzap, could it possibly be a change in the stopping pattern?

The CSA sheet confirms:
770/771 are renumbered 70/71. ZAP's Saturday evening and overnight journeys are withdrawn.

The CSA sheet confirms: 770/771 are renumbered 70/71. Hopefully they will now replace the bus stop signs on the 770 route in North Yorkshire. They were put up when the 771 was the variation serving Thorpe Arch Estate and hence all the way along the 770 route including the section not used by the current 771 the signs refer to both the 770 and 771.

What is the logic behind shortening route numbers? Do non-users find it easier to remember, and therefore increases passenger numbers?

Anyone remember the original route number? This is a hangover from the 1970s when LCT buses could only display two numbers so WYRCC routes had to use the leftover numbers 701-799.

Not sure what it was long ago, but the 770 came about when the 760 (Keighley - Leeds - Wetherby) was shortened to Keighley - Leeds about 15 or so years ago.

Transdev Keighley have announced a raft of service cuts with effect from July 23rd: keighleybus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2017In summary, 62 is curtailed to operate Keighley-Ilkley-Otley. A number of early morning / evening journeys withdrawn on the K series of routes, last 662 withdrawn and a couple of journeys on Brontebus are axed. 696/697/698 are to become 67, 68 and 69 with evening service being every 2 hours. Re-routed in Bradford City Centre. 760 becomes 60 with the last journeys withdrawn Sunday-Thursday

I wonder what they're going to do with the last Friday/Saturday night journeys on the 662? Would have made more sense to withdraw these and have the 10.55pm from Keighley and it's return from Bradford run Friday/Saturday nights only as the inbound journey does link with a reasonably timed Leeds train for those wanting to extend their night out in Leeds.

Changes to the 770/771 posted on the Harrogate Bus website. As well as the confirmation of the re-numbering, new buses with WiFi and USB charging will be introduced. harrogatebus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2015

I'm not a fan of using 2 digit numbers, particularly those in Bradford that run mixed in with all First Bradford's 6xx services. It makes some sense renumbering the 770 the 70 in Leeds, although there already is a 70.
I'm surprised they haven't renumbered the 662 although 62 is of course already used.
I would have thought the 760 was quite a well known rememberable number, and it rolls off the tongue, if it was the 764 he'd have a point.
I'm surprised Coastliner has so far kept its 840, 843 numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 662 became The Shuttle in the way Trent Barton use brands rather than numbers. And the former Shadsworth Shuttle in Blackburn

I wouldn't be surprised if the 662 became The Shuttle in the way Trent Barton use brands rather than numbers. And the former Shadsworth Shuttle in Blackburn Indeed, although I'm not sure that fully works either as in some applications you just end up with cryptic abbreviations SFb, CC, IGO, SWI, COT etc and in the case of Blackburn SHS

Very true, but currently on the rear blinds The Shuttle brand name is more prominent than the destination. And the front blinds have the annoying habit of flicking between destination and brand, which I'm not convinced is useful for non-users.
Going back to the service changes at Keighley, I do think this is too far in some cases. Denholme and Cullingworth only getting a bus every 2 hours on an evening isn't going to attract new custom irrespective of if the bus has WiFi, charging sockets and count down to departure blinds or not. The local services could do with a fresh look too. The last K1 to Black Hill and Laycock will become the 1730, far too early for commuters. Stand outside Keighley rail station any time up to 1900 and count the arriving passengers shows there is huge potential here for attracting more passengers. There's so many changes that could and should be made to improve things, and reducing service levels isn't one of them

760 does not need to become the 60.... Maybe if they didn't try to compete with connexions and ran a complimentary timetable, the 762 could survive to Harrogate.
I'm pretty p!ssed at losing the final 760 journey that I used quite frequently from work and gigs.
I'm also sick of their soporific way of glazing over everything like 'yeah we've halved your frequency... but you will have a bigger bus with usb charging points...'
Hmm call me slighty annoyed...
