964 has gone, the only old decker left at Keighley is 978 which I hear has been sold to a private buyer. Which means all the schools must now be in the hands of the Presidents and Gemini, including those cascaded from the 60 Just a few Olympians holding on at Harrogate and Burnley now

Mainly school duties with the occasional peak 60. They also have done evening peaks on 66 and 62, and a trip on K7 when schools kick out in afternoon

Alex has tweeted photos of two of the new Geminis for the 36 -
3639 is BF67GOA and 3641 BF67GOE. I presume 3640 is BF67GOC as the missing two regs in the sequence I would imagine have been blocked by DVLA from being released (or one of them held as a cherished reg for any vicar)

Further tweeted photo, this time to Alex, confirms 3640 as BF67GOC. Two of them are going to be on display tomorrow, one in Leeds, one in Harrogate.

Apparently its today that one of the new Geminis in on display in Leeds It was parked on Albion Street / Albion Place pedestrian area near Sainsburys Local + Patisserie Valerie. I passed it early so it had just arrived so not sure exactly what was been handed out. I think it was the "GOC" registered bus.

WYIS are now indicating that B7RLEs 1861/2 may be for Harrogate. If they are then they need to be quick about it as the "newer vehicles this year" for the 24 have yet to materialise with that still worked normally by B10BLEs. B7RLEs seemed to be in short supply today with B10BLEs 305, 306 and 308 in use on Route 1 workings and President 2721 on a 71 while a 70 short had Gemini 3614. Another B10BLE was in use on the 2A/2B/3/6 while Versa 212 was on the 21 with the display flicking between the destination and the Little Explorers logo

On Saturday, 2721 had broken down between Spofforth and Follifoot on possibly the 0915 Wetherby - Harrogate service. A recovery van was assisting.

Big article about First Leeds in YEP today, 104 new buses this year for the city. 44 in March followed by another 60 later in the year. Buried in the same article is a promise by Transdev of extra capacity on Aireline and Dalesway routes in 2018. Whether this is increased frequency, different vehicles or just an odd extra decker working is not clear. 'Contactless payments will be accepted on all Transdev buses and extra capacity is promised on the Aireline route between Leeds, Shipley and Keighley and the Dalesway service between Skipton and Keighley. Three more high-spec Euro 6 low emission buses will be added to the Coastliner route between Leeds, Scarborough and the coast.'

Logically, it would be new B5TL's for Aireline to comply with the Low Emission Zone set to come into force in Leeds and maybe for Dalesway with the Versa's on these routes now cascading to upgrade the 62 and 67/68/69 routes.
Given past form, it'll be a frequency increase on Aireline (single deckers would still be full but at least there'll only be a 20 minute wait for the next one instead of 30) and cascaded B7TL's or B7RLE's for Dalesway to either run with more seats per bus at same frequency or same amount of seats per bus at a higher frequency.

Looks like Transdev have been proved wrong with knowing their passenger numbers on Aireline. Making the 60 every 20 minutes would increase the PVR by at least 3 so would be quite a costly move - wouldn't be surprised if its a case of the Geminis being out all day in addition to the current peak decker boards.

Additional capacity is going to be costly, however it is deployed. Unless there are double-deckers elsewhere in the Transdev fleet that are running around less than half full, where they could be replaced one-for-one by Versas without creating similar capacity problems on those routes, you are going to need to either buy more Versas and take on more staff to increase the frequency or replace existing single-deckers with double-deckers that cost more to buy and more to run. Hopefully they won't try to get away with putting 44-seater B7RLEs on the route and claiming that is the additional capacity compared with the 40-seater Versas ... they could just about get away with it on the Brontëbus when they put the B7RLEs on in place of 37-seater Streetlites, but I don't think it would wash on the Aireline!

If the Versa's are cascaded from Aireline to another route, it'll be interesting to see if the replacements are fitted with the same gadgets and gizmo's etc that Transdev were hyping to attract customers.

Could be something very minor like one round trip run by a double deck, or one extra round trip in the peaks run by a Versa. Doesn't have to be wholesale replacement with brand new double decks.

I think this is most likely the case with Aireline, making more use of the Geminis especially during the morning peak
