Apparently a senior manager has kicked off about the heritage buses, the York one getting First decals so not to confuse customers, the Leeds ones due for repaint soon has been decreed will be painted back into standard livery. It really is quite sad that people like him exist! The biggest mistake made by all the groups was getting rid of the local identity, liveries and names are brand the same as the cans on a shelf marked Heinz, it’s a shame this was forgotten in the zeal to be big and corporate. The return of many local identities and the goodwill generated by them (getting rid of bland boring meaningless names in the process) and subsequent regeneration of depots and networks should tell them something. Go Ahead and Transdev have never subscribed to “all the same” and it’s done them no harm where as all 3 big groups First, Arriva and Stagecoach have lost countless thousands as networks and companies have failed. it really is quite amusing that after 20 years Yorkshire Rider is still referred to by people waiting for a bus on the street.

Perhaps somebody could point this 'senior manager' in the direction of Buses of Somerset, or Badgerline, where local identity seems to be ideal. Badgerline of course being a name from the past, whereas BOS show how a new name but with a local identity works. Trouble is, there's then that Leeds red and green, poor choice to me. Perhaps I could pour oil on the water a little. As everybody knows Firsts nickname is Worst bus to a lot of people, and just perhaps, restoring the local identity could bring back First to a market leader or at least help with that. The sad thing is, that there will always be managers who come in and think their ideas are the way forward, and what they fail to see, is that most of First is ex municipals, and the corporate identity means nowt to most people, and gives people the idea that their 'corpy' buses are no longer run locally, but by faceless people in some far away office, who are influenced by the 'money men'and not what happens locally. I really do hope that any decision to repaint the current heritage liveries back in to the dreadful olympia livery will not take place. You never know, 37048 might actually one day get 'proper' Halifax livery.

I think there is a difference between a local livery(non corporate) applied to buses, which do give a local feel, and that of random buses livered up in stuff from the past to appease bus enthusiasts who bend the ear of a local managers to the point of submission.

I’d maybe wait for the moans until it actually happens, as so much discussed on this forum these days never takes place.
After all, weren’t the heritage buses transferred to Bradford a few weeks ago anyway?!

StreetDeck 35261 is the first of 6 having the route branding colour changed from red to yellow. I don't know which route this is for at the mo but I'll post the info when I do.

Latest repaints at Hunslet Park are 32432 & 66999 Leeds skylines and Streetdecks 35262 & 35263 have received the yellow branding for the X26 & X27. They're could be 9 of these in total and I believe they will be transferred to Bramley depot.

Saw 35265 in Leeds today, noticed the yellow stripe at the back doesn't continue over the roof, it's still red.

Looks truly awful with splashes of green everywhere and the wrap itself has been very badly applied, set out and printed I for one wouldn’t be happy as a business like pure gym, with their name warped and twisted over the advert frames the way it has been on this bus, not a good look!
