Just passed Castleford depot and saw what looked like an E400 (light turquoise coloured) at the back of the shed. First one of the new ones maybe? Wasn't a hybrid BTW. Yes, there's two parked up. There's a photo of the fronts of them on AY Facebook page

Could the movement be as simple as:
Hybrids from Castleford to Wakefield Non Max Geminis from Heckmondwike to Wakefield?
Possibly some 06 Lowlanders from Heckmondwike and Castleford to Wakefield too?
That should be enough to let the Spectras out.
The Hybrid paintwork may look messy after peeling off the 4+ year stuck on 163/6 branding vinyl lettering, so I'm guessing they'll be in for repaint quickly, possibly into the overall turquoise with stuck on thin swoop.
Great that the greener hybrids will still be on routes in Leeds City Centre and now serving Wakefield City Centre too on 444/6. Liverpool City Centre seems awash with new and old style Wright Hybrids these days. Creates a good image for the city, which I always find has fresher air than Leeds and Manchester due to proximity to coastline.
Is it just me or do modern vinyls make less of a mess when removed than those 25/30 years ago? Given they mask paintwork they are bound to emphasise fading of the surrounding paintwork, even if they do peel off easily. Amazes me how they survive the mechanical bus washes for so long.

Don't forget heckmondwike have 52 reg lowlanders that need replacing too, maybe some tempo's from castleford ?

Noticed on the latest bus fleetlists that the lowlanders are start to leave Cas the moving them all over to hecky? 1600 still very much in service from Castleford depot. Saw it this morning with a faulty destination. "Wakefield 189" then a load of rubbish scrolling underneath. Presume it will be swapped out upon arriving back in Castleford.

Err, no, this was a promotion for Metro, involving First, Transdev and Arriva for Clean Air Day. Come out the Transdev page, but noticed thats one of the new E400 MMCs, that Arriva Yorkshire are using for promotion, it's even a different colour to Sapphire and Max, in the new style of Livery.

So, with the introduction of castleford's 24 new buses in the morning, when will we see the normal " depot re-shuffles " ?

So, with the introduction of castleford's 24 new buses in the morning, when will we see the normal " depot re-shuffles " ? I'd assumed all the new buses were coming into service today. I'm guessing there's some movement going on today as just seen 2 Pulsar single deckers in Leeds City Centre, one operating a 163 and another on a 166 service (suggesting Greenies may be in process of moving to Wakey). I've also seen 117 and 444 operated by the little mini Enviro200s,which seems odd on a Summer Sunday. Possibly some movement with the bigger buses that normally operate these services?

1948-1958 are in new livery with branding for service 189 1960-1970 are in new Sapphire livery with branding for services 163/166 1959/1971 are in new livery with no branding
The non-Sapphire ones are branded as MAX internally, so either that name is continuing or it was a very late change to introduce the new livery. Considering that the new livery was presumably designed at about 4:55 on a Friday, I'd suggest the latter.

Only 11 branded for 163/166 then. Weren't about 13 or 14 Hybrids (i.e. them all) branded for those services. Good that they've Sapphired that one as a key route.
Now Sapphire 415 next!
