Which dtv is 499 going to be replacing? Possibly 1214 which is believed to have gone for scrap ! Penfold I was under the impression that 1214 was still in operation as a DTV and 402 had gone to scrap

Penfold I was under the impression that 1214 was still in operation as a DTV and 402 had gone to scrap 402 went for scrap a few months ago after the engine blew up and due to imminent replacement it was not sanctioned for repairs. 1214 had been undergoing major body work repairs due to severe corrosion of the structure. It had had a lot of money spent on it and needed a lot more too. Again it appears that any further repairs were not forthcoming. It was parked in BI yard mid last week with most of the panels and windows missing. Penfold

Here's a list of vehicles currently dumped in the "Tunnel" at Belle Isle depot out of use - Dart 260, Spectras 702 705 710 711 712 713 715 716 and - Yorkshire Tiger Solo 328, MPD 554, Cadets 605 612 624, MAN 653 and burnt out Tempo 774. Lowlander 1600 is allocated to Belle Isle but has been out of use being repaired and due back on shortly and Selby's 1607 looks now like a permanent transfer to Belle Isle.

Is it 1207 that's in bits, Ihaven't seen it about recently?

It will pay me to make better observations next time lol. Penfold

Id quite like them to reinstate 605 & 612 at Honley!

If anything they should have had the Tempos that returned from North East to try and standardise the fleet a bit and get shot of some of the older Cadets and Commanders.

Those buses did receive an internal refurb though so they want to get a good 5 years out of them.

AY Commander 499 is now back at BI after being fully converted to a DTV and repainted into the current training fleet livery (light blue and purple)

Two of the 415s have been parked up at Piccadilly this afternoon - which is where racecourse buses are left up when spare. That'd probably explain the increased demand.

Could it makes sense for some current Sapphires on 110 to be repainted (like 1947) pass to 415 when 110 is next allocated new buses? That way both routes get newer buses. Although I think Arriva as one of the 3 big operators in York could give themselves a good image in the city by putting brand new Eco buses on the 415 and possibly extending some services west of the river to the station like some 405s used to do.

As selby Depot was “down graded” , I doubt they will get any new buses at all I really don't get that line of thinking. Selby has a range of services – some local routes around Selby and York, some bog-standard interurban routes (401, 403, 405) ... and the 415, which is a high-profile interurban service where investment in high-quality buses is likely to pay off. It has a PVR of 7, so it does justify a dedicated fleet. No, the local and rural buses around Selby, and the longer routes out to Goole, Leeds and Doncaster, don't merit new buses, and they are fine to keep getting hand-me-downs from other depots – that's perfectly appropriate for the demands of those routes, and I have no problem with that. But if the 415 does merit new buses then why skimp on costs arbitrarily because other routes from the depot are deemed not profitable enough? Something will need to happen with the 415 in the next 18 months anyway, because the current buses will fall foul of York's Clean Air Zone, which is expected to come into force in (January ?) 2020, so they will either need to be retrofitted to meet the emissions standards or replaced with Euro VI-compliant vehicles.

In what way was Selby ‘downgraded’. Is this just one of those things that goes from forum to forum and loses track of the actual meaning in the process.
