I still remember it from my first visit to Leeds in 1989. My guest house was near Greengates so I got there on a West Yorkshire Road Car VR. Digressing from buses, they had a Yorkshire Terrier dog, who I nicknamed a "cat dog" as he sat on my lap like a cat would!

I worked at Vicar Lane Bus Station from 1973 to 1986 and well remember the crowds of people on a Saturday morning queueing up for the East coast services which used to have many duplicates operating in the summer months. West Yorkshire used to hire in coaches from various independents, Bibby's of Ingleton stands out in my memory as being a regular supplier. There were also any number of day excursions to both east and west coasts and into the Dales. Happy times!
