Thought it might be a good idea to have a sub thread for Transdev going ons in Lancashire
There are some changes coming up in Burnley from 2nd May
The Witch Way is withdrawn from Nelson at off peak times, but extended to Skipton via the M65. This will mean more vehicles will be needed than there are currently Witch Way buses available. I wonder what will be being transferred in, possibly a couple of the old WW buses from Blackburn?
The Mainline is no longer running to Skipton, which is currently does every 15 mins, means a reduction of PVR on that service.
Service 8 to Bacup is passing to Rosso from the same date.
Also LCC have closed their information office meaning there is currently no where to freely pick up bus timetables in Burnley. Hopefully this is something Transdev will be sorting soon.

Or they might shuffle some buses around to get all double-deckers on the X43. The daytime service on the X43 takes about 40 minutes longer each way to Skipton compared with Nelson, which on a half-hourly service means 3 extra buses. The current Mainline timetables appear to have a daytime requirement of about 34 buses although it's hard to tell exactly how they match up. The new Mainline services look to only need 26 buses, with the withdrawal of the 28 between Colne and Skipton, and the 29 between Barnoldswick and Skipton (they have been keeping quiet about that section of route seeing its service halved), so there will probably be about 5 or 6 buses released from that pool.

The current Mainline is 32 I believe although apparently there are some dupes on top of that.
The new mainline looks to be 26 with extras at peaks and possibly still the dupes

Transdev also re-routing some peak-time X43 journeys, similar to the 36 between Harrogate and Leeds, to provide faster journeys between Burnley and Manchester.
The peak-time journeys will run limited stop between Burnley Summit and Manchester, calling at Crawshawbooth (Black Dog) and Rawtenstall (Bank Street) only then running into Manchester via M66 and M60 motorways then along the A664 (stopping at Victoria Avenune) via First Manchester's 17 route to Shudehill (not calling at the Interchange) before (presumably) continuing to Chorlton Street via Church Street and Piccadilly Gardens, missing out Deansgate and Peter Street (avoiding the Metrolink 2CC roadworks around Albert Square/Princess Street).

Latest WYIS fleet list shows that 17 has been withdrawn, this was the last bus still in Blackburn Transport OC livery.
2173 has also been withdrawn, the ECW Olympian in original Blazefield LU livery

I believe that 2751-2753 are becoming Witch Way buses again, transferring back from Blackburn to Burnley for the increased PVR.

A new set of services to be registered numbered B1, B2, B3 I presume?

A new set of services to be registered numbered B1, B2, B3 I presume? No the 2,3,8,9 are just withdrawn. Darwen Coach Services are providing a limited replacement for some by adjusting a few of their services, and adding an extra PVR. The Shad shuttle is rerouted back via the hospital. The council have finally binned the 5A/5C outer circle service, in order to save money.

So the Blackburn local bus network will basically consist of just the 4 and the SHS?
Doesn't sound like the best time to relaunch as the Blackburn Bus Company when the majority of routes are basically inter urban services to adjacent towns and practically no town services at all. The name Lancashire United which was apparently not reflecting Blackburn's heritage, would have therefore been even more relevant.

The name Lancashire United which was apparently not reflecting Blackburn's heritage, would have therefore been even more relevant. The majority of local journeys within Blackburn are taken on the routes that head out of town, with the exception of the 4 and the Shad shuttle. There aren't many journeys taken on the 3/8/9, indeed the 8/9 only consist of a handful of journeys each day anyway.

Alex Hornby has also tweeted recently that there will be £3.5m investment on the Mainline next year, new buses "built in the north"
Replacing the B10BLEs I'd presume.

In theory then, must be either Versa's or Enviro 200MMC's (if these are still built at Scarborough) or maybe they'll upgrade Mainline to double deck and go for E400MMC's or the new Optare Metrodecker.
Can't think of anything else that would qualify as 'built in the north'.

Last week I needed to get to Burnley and the cheapest quickest way I could think of was 760 and M4 combination meaning with a Metro pass I only needed to pay £6.10 for a Silver day ticket. Mainline buses I used were clean but looking a bit worn, particularly the cream head rests on the B7 and silver painted poles on the B10 I rode on. I'd go for a change of colour scheme internally, the use of red is ok, but ditch the painted poles and cream headrests. On a separate note, good to see so many new buses in Burnley, and in Keighley.

That was a M&M service so taking it on has obviously proved that there was only enough custom for a clapped out minibus to survive on

Interestingly the displaced B7s are to refurbished for at least two routes - wonder if they be coming east, the 770/1 and 62 spring to mind.

It was already confirmed they were Versas.
About a third of this discussion is in 3 different threads.
The 22/24 in Blackburn is also surely a candidate for the displaced B7RLEs

Replacing the Shadsworth Shuttle and no longer inter working with the Chorley route 24
Using the refurbished B10BLEs previously found on the York Unibus perhaps?
This one looks very similar to Kinchbus in Alex Hornby's old stomping ground.
